My 2016 Ram 3500 Diesel is due the manufacturer's recommended 30k mile service. When I called the dealer to inquire on what the service included, they provided me with a list of the recommended services which were largely fluid related. Is the replacement of all fluids (oil, coolant, differentials, etc.) and any related filters necessary at 30k miles? The cost is quite prohibitive. I use this truck to pull a 36 foot fifth wheel which I suspect adds wear to the fluids, but I would prefer to only service that are needed at this time. Thoughts?

Do an oil change check all fluids, do a brake pad Inspection, check Ball joints (I do this out of routine) id drop The rear diff fluid, I tow alot with my truck and change it every 30-40k. I use 75w-140 royal purple With friction modifier in it already and never had a problem with it. Tranny I wouldn't do till 60 ish k and same for coolant. Other than that the truck is still just a baby don't need to go about dropping transfercase fluids or front diff it hardly gets used and the stealership charges a ton of money for their apprentice to change your fluids.

Absolutely I change my fuel filters every 20k Alittle excessive maybe but it could save a pump later down the road. The fuel filter is the most expensive?? That seems odd.

Brandon, the dealer said that there were two fuel filters but that he suggested only changing the one in the engine compartment. How much should I expect to pay to have the fuel filter changed?

I'm Not sure what the shop rate is there and the one in the engine compartment is the one one I change. In a shop they'll likely charge you half an hr plus filter so depending on rate I'd say 140-180 ish. It usually takes me about half.an hour on the ground to do it.
