Hey Guys,

So i've installed a Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit (spacers) on the front of my 2011 ram. Now i'm looking into the biggest tires I can fit. I am thinking 33" but If i can push into 35's, why not? hehe

I am looking at BF Goodrich KO2's (hopefully 35 inches max?) My truck currently has 17" FRD HD Series FRD-TR2-black rims/wheels. It seems that there are 35 inch tires available for said rim, but I would like some input as to what you guys think?

Would spacers be needed if i put 35 inch tires? I am looking into a lift kit, but currently, I don't have the budget for it. That's in about a 1-2 year plan. So right now, the plan is to get it to look "meaner" for the meantime. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Ok Rene, just my opinion here and hopefully it helps your decision. I think 35's on 17's have too much sidewall, 35's on 20's look spot on, 33's on 17's in my opinion would look the best and with only a 2 1/2" leveling kit the 35's would make the fender wells look "stuffed". Its kinda weird but although the 35's would make your truck higher by an inch over the 33's, the 33's actually would make the truck deceivingly look higher because of the space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender.

Aesthetics aside, "stuffing" can lead to issues when anything happens like speed bumps or potholes.

When I was a kid, my dad had 35s on his 93 Sierra, (not sure of lift size) first time out he hit a pot hole and ripped the plastic from his wheel well. Next day he slapped on 33s. I guess tread type also plays a roll. I remember them being super meaty.

Anyway, food for thought
Cheers

If your looking at BFG’s, consider the 315/70R17. It’s a load range C and is the stock Raptor tire size. Mounted on the truck it measures just shy of 34. I bet you could find some take offs cheap

I toyed with the idea of purchasing wider new wheels and tires for months and for once did the financially responsible thing due to not wanting to add the extra weight of a 10 ply tire that would adversely affect my gas mileage and overall ride quality. Anotger reason why I didn’t go wider is because I’m not really a fan of fender flares on Rams with a plastic front bumper. I also liked the look of the Chevy’s with factory Duratrac’s, but thought they were too aggressive for my needs. Either way I think these are the perfect addition to my daily driven Bilstein Lifted 2014.

exactly what this guy said. 35s on 20s are the best imo. but to each their own of course

Personally Im a fan of more tire. 35’s on 20” wheels just dont look right to me. I put a 2.5” leveling kit on my third gen ram 1500 and ran 35” nitto trail grapplers. Took it light wheeling quite often in the summers. They never rubbed or bottomed out on the fenders.
When you put a level on a 4th gen ram 1500 with 35’s, is there not as much room as a 3rd gen from top of tire to fender?

Here is my ‘15 on a 2.5” level with 35” KO2’s. They are 315/70/17 love the way it looks! I do rub at full lock but I am on stock Rebel wheels. Good luck!

I have 35x12.5x18s General Grabber X3s on 18x9s Badlands with 12mm offset and clear just fine no rubbing.

Not a fan of 20" rims and lifted trucks and would have bought 17s but these wheels did not come in that size. I like more sidewall on offroad tires.

Fantastic looking truck! I love the stock Rebel wheels. If I could find some all black, I would be in heaven.

Thank you! I know, I searched high and low for these stupid things. Finally had my buddy at the dealer start looking. He found some after a couple months. The all black look SHARP almost went with them but liked the little bit of contrast these have!

My truck is leveled, stock 20's w/33's Nitto Trail Grapplers. Love the look, sits about 2" overall higher than my uncles stock ram. It does slightly rub when reversing (full lock)

Pic was the other day please forgive the dirty truck
