I was gonna post this in the lifted thread , but I'm only after a good 35" tire .

Not really a lifted truck imo [emoji1303] I've had lifted trucks and I ran 42 & 44inch tires back then , 35 isn't lifted in my opinion ....

I AM NOT concerned with tire noise , I actually like the sound .

I do off-road often , mud and snow is my concern .

My truck is a 14 Ram 4x4 QC , I've installed Bilstein adjustable shocks at +2.8" a couple years ago and 1.5" spacers above the rear coils .

Any advice is welcome on the tires and please add links and personal experiences .

I'm also after new wheels ....

Again posting this here , maybe else where would be a better idea ?

I've never been a fan of the 20" wheels , i prefer 17" wheels .

I also don't like chrome .

I like deep dish , but not required .

I want them to be simple to clean .

I want a good quality that doesn't corrode with minimal care .

I like mostly black ....some chrome accent isn't bad imo but very little for me .

I'd like a Zero to -12mm offset ......

So a 17X9 or 10" dominantly black wheel with a ZERO to Max of -12 mm offset deep dish or not , easy to clean LIGHT WEIGHT Aluminum wheel ...

Any suggestions [emoji16]

BFG or Toyo or death.

Eventhough you want 17's, look to make sure that rim comes in a larger size, that means your 17 will be strong. Some of those cheap rims that size out at 16 or 17 wont be as strong.

I've ran BFG for 20+ years , I like them and they are popular , but I'm open to the Toyos [emoji106][emoji106]

I agree,

If you can, go with toyo AT2, toyo RT or BFGKO2. Top choices IMO. Great milage and performance

I’ve got Nitto Ridge Grapplers they’re a pretty good tire. They seem pretty comparable to the BFG KO 2’s that they replaced. For snow performance the KO2’s do perform better. They are great in the snow. I’m currently running 295/66/20’s which are slightly larger than 35’s. I’ve got My Bilsteins set at 2.8 also.

Hmm , I never thought of that ...I just figured a 17" wheel would be just as or more strong than a 20" wheel ....

Are they loud ? Not a big concern , I just want to know .

Do you know the weight per tire ? More than 66.5lbs per tire ?

17's are stronger, but when they size out at 17 or 16 there was a reason why they don't make a 18 or 20 in that wheel, and usually it because they wont support a vehicle. BTW, wasn't me talking but my tire guy telling me why I couldn't get a twenty in a certain steel wheel. He explained the thing to me. Those stock 16 steel wheels that regular guys like so much, style and price, but they literally are so week they can break if pushed. That is why you wouldn't even want them in a 16, because even though they are deamed "safe" they are weak compared to a well made 16. You can still find budget rims, just make sure they make a 20 in that rim then buy the stronger version 17.

This is the best pic of my wheel I have at the moment. I'll get a better one tomorrow, but if you zoom in you'll get a pretty good idea of what it looks like. From your description, it sounds like we have very similar taste in wheels. Lol. 17 x 9, -0 wrapped in 285/75 KO2's. I should have gone with 35's but I was worried about rubbing. I could easily fit a 35 in there, it's only a smidge bigger than what I have.

**edit** in regards to weight ratings, these are rated at 2500 lbs each. Well above what most other rims I looked at were.

just as an example, this rim would be a 17 or 20, this one 17 and no larger, both about the same weight, but the spoke rims are gonna be able to handle more. What's harder to bend sheet metal or a metal bar? That's the principal.
