I have a 2018 Ram Tradesman 2500
Rough country 2.5 inch leveling kit
I want to do Toyo AT2 35x12.5r20
Hostile Sprocket 20x10 wheels with a -19 offset.

Some people are saying this wheel and offset will fit just fine but Les Swab is telling me that there is no way this will work with that offset without rubbing. They said a 20x9 -19mm rim instead of the 20x10 -19mm is more likely to fit but I don't understand how changing the rim width will change if it's going to rub or not if the offset is still -19 and tire width is still 12.50. Any help?

with a 20x9 with a -19 the rim won't stick out of the fender well as much. You lose 1/2" each side with a 9" wide vs. a 10" wide. End of the day go with what you want. I stuffed a 37" on a 4" lift stock wheels, everyone said it wouldn't fit. I mean if it does rub on the inner fender well are you okay with that? As long as it clears the bumper and fender by the door you are clear unless cranking the wheel one way or the other

A 20x10 -19 offset wheel has a 4.75" backspace
20x9 -19 will give it a 4.25 backspace
The higher the backspace number the further the wheel is closer to the fender wells and in your case a fat tire with 4.75 backspace might rub in steering components, (i'm not familar with the 2500 live axel, in my Jeep i had 4.5 backsapce with 12.5 tires)
So in this case the 20x9 -19 will push the tire out a lot more than the 20x10 -19, but because the wheel is 1" narrower mounting the same size tires, you may not necessarily see this as the tire will be 1" narrower mounted on the skinnier wheel.

I have the same truck with Ridge Grap 35x12.5 with 18x9 -12 wheels and a 3” lift and it rubs at full stop when in reverse. I don’t think there is any way you are going to fit that combo in there and not have to trim at the very least.

I don’t think that the 20x9 or 20x10 would make any difference, you are going to rub on the wheel well liner or pitch weld either way. On the 2500 there aren’t any control arms to worry about and you shouldn’t get anywhere near the shock or spring.

This was helpful to me when trying to figure things out. You can search for trucks with the same lift/tire/wheel combo you want and it will have pics and tell you if they had to trim or if they rub.

-19 is a pretty big offset and I would guess a 10" wide would probably rub. I'm running 35's on 18x9 wheels with +18 offset and no rubbing with a 2.3" front level. Stock offset on these trucks is something like +57 so -19 is pushing that tire way out

Maybe consider a smaller offset unless you are purposely looking for that Brodozer look as I like to call it?

Read through this, may help you out.

I’m running a -18 offset the factory chrome clad tradesman wheels are +18 offset. The difference is about an inch. Mine rubbed slightly before I put the 2.75 leveling kit on.
The rubbing will also depend a lot in tire design too.
I have Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s 35-12.5/20x10
Although rim diameter doesn’t matter just the width.

My next set of shoes will be 37-12.5/20 brand unknown at this time but definitely will be in the M/T category.

They'll rub for sure but that's nothing that can't be solved with a little plastic trimming. The main issue will be on the back of the inner fender liner. Easy plastic to trim off and it won't even be noticeable. I doubt you'd have rubbing issues on the front but if you did, again, it would just be on the plastic valance which can also be trimmed.

I’m running 20x10 Fuel’s with -18 offset with 35x12.5 MT’s with Bils at 2.8. Has minor rubbing on wheel well liners in the front. Just cut them off and your fine.

When I had my 2500, I had a 2.5” level and ran 35’s on 20x10 -24 offset and they rubbed pretty good until I cut a chunk out of the plastic fender liner.
