I finally pulled the trigger. Wheels and tires showed up today and I just finished installing them. Man that's a lot of tire! Sticks out a bit more than I expected but not too bad. Had to do a little trimming but that was expected.

Stats:
37x12.5R18 Falcon Wildpeak AT3W
Method MR312 Bronze 18x9 +18mm
My truck has a 2" Thuren level
Tires measure about 35.5" installed at 50psi
Front fender now sits at 44"
Rear fender is at 44.5"

Initial drive was good. Steering feels a bit heavier coming from the 295/65R20 Toyos. Rides smoother now but takes a little bit more steering input to keep her going straight compared to the Toyos. Looks badass with the bigger tire and smaller wheel. Can't wait to shine her up and get some good pics. Some dirty ones for now below. 292405983be1a1615a560e434f05517e.jpgee0ff2a16d78d1ad37334cc6e7401e3e.jpg04c731dcc2610232b3a52c12207e3e1e.jpg59d624f05bdd31e7152cc055c7527a13.jpg08f7913937542aee60f90a912c121f1b.jpg6ed22399d734f510809ef1fcf9b168db.jpg

Damn.....makes me wanna go 37's.just got my leveling kit in and should be making a tire purchase in the next week or so. Was planning on going with 35 inch ridge Grapplers. How bad was the trimming you had to do?

I had to take the front mud flaps off and trim that hump off at the bottom of the fender flare. I'll take a pic and show you when I leave for work in a bit.

Also I wanted to share that I got 43k miles out of the Toyo AT2 tires in 295/65R20. I thought they were really great tires until they got to about 8/32 they started to get a bit slippery in the wet. They're at 6/32 now and I could probably squeeze another 5k or so out of them but not in the winter.

I'll run the 37s for winter and switch back to maybe a 34" or so for the summer season hauling the camper.

Here's what I cut off. Sorry for the poor quality pic, it's been snowing like a son of a gun today. I'll clean it up and put a piece in behind there to make it look nice after I rust proof it.

Looks good.

How much of a mpg hit did you take going to 37's?

Kind of hard to tell just yet. I was around 11-13 on my daily commute with the 35s. I just filled up yesterday and was just over 10 but it's been very cold this week which usually takes some mpgs off.

Looks awesome! Really has me wanting to go 37s when my Toyos wear out.

Is it much more sluggish getting moving? I wont mind a hit on mpg( just dont pay attention to it haha) but I don't wanna have to regear because I went big tire

Thanks! I talked myself into it by saying I will only ruin them in the winter and once camping season comes I'll put smaller ones on. Plus the bigger size has me driving a bit more restrained just out of caution for the health of the drivetrain.

You can definitely tell they're there taking off from a start driving normally. Bogs a little like you're pulling a very light trailer. Although I'm surprised to say I don't feel too much difference under full throttle.

By calibrating you tire size with Alpha will also help with your shift patterns

Yes, absolutely update your computer for the correct tire size. I bought an AEV ProCal when I went to 35s and updated again for the 37s. I also like the ProCal because I can run fog lights while the high beams are on.

The truck looks sweet!! nothing like a tall standing 37x12.5 to make a truck look like a truck!, at least that's my opinion anyway.
The drawbacks? 10 to 11 mpg highway, mine are noisy of course, do to the fact that they are mudders, great in the snow, slushy ice, and off-road, they suck in the rain, spin like crazy. You can feel the weight difference from factory! ( BUT ) I've had mine for about a year and a half, done a lot of highway driving with them and so far they wear very well. My set up consists of KANATI 37x12.5 tires 10x20 negative 12 no spacer moto metal rims, and a 4 inch superlift, and for sound, a full Magna flow system with 5 inch tips. And as the eye should pick up in the pics? a ****load of mods inside and outside the truck. Four years and 10,000 dollars worth. Not much makes me happier outside my marriage except driving this truck. Keep up the nice work on yours, I like the color combo. :)TRUCK.jpg TRUCK 1.jpg TRUCK 2.jpg

Did you guys know that the EPA is actually pushing to make it a crime against the clean air act to install any tire that changes or alters the factory fuel economy and/or emissions output of your vehicle like these tires. I was talking with a friend of mine who work for a legal firm the other day. They represent a lot of EPA and clean air act cases especially now that they are coming down hard on diesel deletes and other tuners. He said that their plan is to slowly, but surely eliminate each aftermarket mod group one at a time instead of taking them all on at one time.

Not sure how accurate this is, but he has never given me a reason to doubt him in the past.

Wow had no idea you could fit 37s with just a level. I've got 35s on mine and had to trim a lot, maybe since they're -18

How do you like the Falkens in the snow? My plan was to go to those with a 6" lift in the spring and regear the axles

So those are sold as a 37” but they measure 35.5... so in reality they are a 35” tire.
I can’t stand how some manufacturers do that.

cjc off road has a lot of good info for these trucks and what it takes to clear a 37”.

I was at bear camp last weekend and unfortunately all we had was a bunch of mud and no snow. They did well in the mud. Up to about 10" for some stretches. No better or worse then the Toyos I had on but didn't test them too hard.

This is scary I hope they're wrong.
