8 Speed Trans
1st:4.71:1 x 3.21 = 18.46
2nd: 3.14:1 x 3.21 = 10.07
3rd: 2.10:1 x 3.21 = 6.74
4th: 1.66:1 x 3.21 = 5.32
5th: 1.28:1 x 3.21 = 4.10
6th: 1.00:1 x 3.21 = 3.21
7th: 0.83:1 x 3.21 = 2.66
8th: 0.66:1 x 3.21 = 2.11
R: 3.30 x 3.21 = 10.59

Compared that to the 6speed
1st 3.00:1 x 3.92 = 11.76
2nd 1.67:1 x 3.92 = 6.54
3rd 1.50:1 x 3.92 = 5.88
4th 1.00:1 x 3.92 = 3.92
5th 0.75:1 x 3.92 = 2.94
6th 0.67:1 x 3.92 = 2.62
R: 3.00:1 x 3.92 = 11.76

I have a 2016 sport with a 6” lift, 37” tires and truck works great, only downsides are fuel mileage and on the highway it doesn’t really go in 8th. Also I have the pulsar set at tow. It’ll fry the back tires on take off and if I put it in performance mode you can barely touch the pedal on takeoff or it just spins.

Hey everyone. I've finally decided I want to do a six inch lift with 37's on my 2015 Ram 1500. I see posts that say it is an absolute dog and those few rare posts that say 3.21 with 37's don't seem to be an issue whatsoever. I feel like I am way too stuck on 37's and how nice they look. But I want to make sure I'm not going to tear things apart in a month. I have the 8 speed tranny (of course) which I've heard helps a little bit of the 6 speeds. I don't live in a hilly area but I do end up driving up and down some hills every once in a while. I would say my driving is 75% city and 25% highway. But when I say city I mean country roads that are 55 MPH and are usually a few mile strips. I get everyone says not to but the people who say not to never had any experience with the setup. I guess that's why i'm still stuck on 37's. I also don't get why it isn't just like a load from a trailer. I get there is more revolutions but I feel like it can't be that big of an issue... Any input is appreciated.

Hey Wyatt, I own a 2014 Ram 1500 with 3.21 gears. I put a 6 inch BDS suspension lift on it with 37 inch nitto G2's. I ran 37s for 2 years and no issues. However, I had a few minor performance upgrades. Super chip tuner, flowmaster cat back exhaust and a cold air intake. I never felt it drag at all. I even added a 3.5 inch body lift a little over a year ago and upgraded to 38 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Still no issues.

So, if you want 37s go with it! The look of it is mean and aggressive. However, my advice is don't go with the terra grappler g2s you wont like the look. Get a more agressive tire. The ridge grappler is perfect!

On my 2nd gen I had 40s with 3.55 gears. Upgraded to 5.13s and am in the process of doing the 8spd swap
