Sorry to hear you're having problems with the Coopers. I'm running 37-13.5-17 STT Pros and the truck drives smooth as silk and straight as an arrow.

How amyn miles do you get out of those? I run highway 90% of the time, and i like the price of the 37x13.5's at discount tire...damn near $100 cheaper per tire than the Terra Grappler G2's. But these are going to last me a good 70k miles.

^^^^^If you get 70k miles out of a 37” all terrain tire on a 2500 you my friend are a god. Please tell us your specs/ drive long conidiotns/hwy vrs city/mpg/air pressure??

Highest psi ratting I could find on a 37” terra g2 for 17” and above rim was 65 psi.

Yeah they're 65psi tires, I keep them around 55 front 60 rear. I drive a lot of highway miles as well, but I certainly don't baby it from a stop or around corners.I just drive normal, go 70-80 on the highway, etc. My dad just got a new set and he put around 60k on his, but the belt was coming loose on the inside of one of them, something like that...so he got a new set. He could have went to 70k as well. His are the 295/70/r18 80psi and he keep them 60/80psi.

A LOT can cause your problem.

Take the tires back...

Just sayin
Toyo has a 500 mile 45 day guarantee. If you don’t like them, they will take them back

And ......
Toyo MT’s are what the cool kids use, [emoji23]

Get rid of the Coopers and the vibration will go with it. Spent 38 years in the delivery business and we went through 100's,maybe 1000's of Coopers over the years. They were great tires for a long time. The last 5-10 years are hit or miss. My buddy's repair shop got to the point where they would not install any. My last set could not be balanced by anyone and that was my last set.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to go over the suspension components. If nothing seems wrong then I'll definitely get something different.

How many miles on the ol wagon?

34k miles

Discount already asked me if I wanted to try a different tire, but I didn't want to jump the gun because I will most likely end up with Toyo MT's. I just hate to fork out another $400-500 for the Toyo's. If the suspension overview comes out good then I'll just suck it up and get a different tire. I'm tired of dealing with this issue.

I still recommend the Nitto Ridge Grappler.

The ridge grappler is definitely not an M/T. It is in the AT-MT hybrid category.

Its definitely an AT. If I was looking for an AT then I would most likely go with the Nitto Ridge Grappler.

My HMMWV tires were way off-balance. They have the run-flat inserts. 37x12.5x16, things weigh like 165 lbs each.

Experts said they couldn't be balanced, so I bought some Centramatics http://www.centramatic.com/

They made a difference, but a friend of mine who runs an off-road custom shop (Adrenaline Off Road) who had bought a HMMWV after seeing mine, said that was nonsense.

He has a balancing/ROAD FORCE (I forget the make/model, but he said it was around $18,000 installed) machine he had done my Tacoma tires on, and my daughter's Matrix tires (we installed/balanced), so I said what the heck, let's try.

EZPZ, no problem at all. Tires balanced GREAT. In the process we noted two rims are "tweaked" such that the midline of the respective tires "wobbles" about 1/2 inch. Will deal with that later.

Might need another machine, location that deals with larger tires.

Always listen to the experts. They'll tell you what's impossible, then you go out and do it. (Robert Heinlein, paraphrased).

Are used to work at a tire shop and I absolutely hate those run flat inserts.

Don’t know if they still do but Honda had them on the Odyssey van. The inner diameter of the rim was larger than the outer diameter of the rim. The ram had that big plastic ring that went around it inside the tire when mounted.

Strange.

And then the runflat tires themselves with an extremely thick side walls. Those are not fun either.

Getting the runflat inserts in/out of the tires is a holy chore made marginally easier by a couple of closely-spaced trees - if you‘re lucky - or parking lot „cowcatchers“, a comealong, winch, logging chain or tow strap, or forklift, some combination of things to pin the tire down and pull the insert OUT. The compression tool‘s a must for reinsertion.

The plus side to the runflats in FMVs (Former Military Vehicles) is - and I only know this from second-hand stories - if you have a blowout (not unheard of with older tires as most of the ones on milsurplus vehicles are aging out pretty quickly, mine are about 8-10 years), especially a FRONT tire, you‘re going to AVOID a precipitous drop to ground making for some interesting times trying to control 5500-plus pounds of vehicle, passengers and physics isn‘t your friend at this point.

Not a real issue if you‘re rock-crawling or mudding, but on the highway? Not fun.

Finally got around to get the broken stud repaired as well as the front end checked out. Alignment was good. Steering wheel was a little off, but they said nothing to cause the shaking and right pull. I still have the shake and pull to the right so back to Discount I go for new tires. Now the decision of just getting a new set of these or going with a different tire. I just don't want to fork out another chunk of money for a different tire.

I've only got 3000 miles on this set with no signs of wear as expected. Not sure how many miles I'll get out of them but if I get 50k I'll be happy considering how I drive the truck.

Thanks for the input guys. I went to Discount this afternoon and had them order me up some BFG KM3's. I've been hearing that coopers are a hit or miss as far as having issues with them so I didnt feel like taking that chance again. Plus I'm only having to pay an additional $160 for the KM3's when normally it would be an additional $400 or so over these coopers. I almost went with Nitto Trail Grapplers as I've had a set in 35s on my 1500 Ram and loved them. They were about the same price as KM3's but I figured I would try something different. I've heard good things about the new KM3 and that they have made some good improvements over the KM2 especially with reducing the road noise quite a bit. I was going to go with the Toyo MT but they said those tires are a bit hard to come by and can take a while to get in. Plus I've heard that they don't have the best life compared to other MT's and the guy helping me confirmed that his 40" Toyo MT's wear out crazy fast. I should have them by Monday. Wish me luck!
