The cab vents behind the rear passenger seats. After a year of water pooling under my rear seats i finally stumbled across a thread that mentioned these vents. I had no idea they were there. But sure enough, i found the source of the leaks.

You can verify this without disassembly by feeling for water logged material just below the vents. Pic below shows where you can feel the expansion. Just reach beneath the seats.

This picture actually shows it

If youve already done the back seat mod, this will be a breeze but if not, you have to remove the seats like i did. While they were out, i went ahead and did the mod.

To fix the seal, i dont know if there is a preferred method, but i went ahead and used RTV between the ribbed seal on the vent.

A better shot of vent placement

I did alot of searching over a period of 2-3 months about pooling water but only the 3BL and window seals were mentioned as the fix. I found the vent thread completely by accident. It may be a less common culprit to the pooling but i feel it merits a mention for all future threads.

Anyway, thanks for looking

I replaced mine with the new version as well. Actually when I pulled the old ones out I’m glad I ordered new ones. One of mine had a deformed flap and would not seat in the channel and I think that’s how bugs were getting in. No more bugs and no more water. The other one had a a few of the flaps would not sit flat. Also the outer rubber seal ring was Warped on my driver side vent bad but both sides leaked.

Where did you end up getting the replacement vents from?
