So, I've been researching parts for my 4.56 gear install this fall. Kinda confusing to say the least, not to mention expensive. Rear end was the easy part. I've read greychevy build with his truck several times over on DodgeTalk, looked at his pics. Still confused on what parts to get. Here's my list from 2010 Ram 1500 front. wondering if any parts from my front end will work.

5170303AE Axle Housing $1237.35
52114387AE Actuator $135.72
52069713AB Axle cover $39.21
52070437AA Differential case $468.95
52105990AB driveshaft $267.96
52070389AA Companion flange $87.00

For the life of me I cannot find the pre '12 Bracket that Ethan mentions that will need to be had nor the yoke. I'm thinking the yoke is a part with the driveshaft?

Hoping someone who has actually did the conversion can give me some guidence.

Have you sent Ethan a PM. Probably the best way to pick his brain. GL

Give Josh a shout as well (Modern Performance Engineering). He is probably your best bet at sourcing these front end parts for the least amount of money.

All I did was find one like below on ebay then I called them up and asked how much for the driveshaft, brackets, and CV axles too. The actuator and all was included. I think all the parts ran me $600 shipped but that was a long time ago so can't remember right off hand. I then sold the 2012 stuff for like $400. If you buy everything new it would cost a fortune. Josh did the install so he might remember more that would be helpful:

Thanks Greychevy, I'm going to see what's there. I appreciate the info with your specifics.

Just curious what size tires you're running to justify the cost of the 4.56 swap?

So, instead of grabbing that one you listed. The same seller had one but with 3:55 gears for $284.00 (FRONT DIFFERENTIAL 06 07 08 09 10 11 DODGE RAM 1500 3.55 GEAR RATIO, TESTED). Should be able to use the differential assembly that comes with it right? Might just buy a new differential assembly anyhow.

Thanks Ken. Gears are going out today. Now all you need to do is have that converter sent in to be bumped up to about 3000-3200, and you are in business.

Definitely on the list during the gear and header install. Just waiting on your cam results. I'll be calling Dave for the custom grind.

Got some new used parts today from ebay, very exciting. Now just need some brackets. Hopefully I can use a lot of it, but if not, that housing is $1200. I think I scored for $280 something.

After much to do, Machined LSD is finally in my hands. The biggest shout out to Matt @ Moes performance for his dedication/Labor. Without him, we wouldn't be "Fast Ram Trucks". Josh @ Modern Performance Engineering, invaluable product for this mod. Just saying!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you!
