Anyone know how much work it would take to machine out the rear end for the 4.56s to fit? and roughly how much it would cost to have a shop do it? also would it weaken the rear end any or would it still have plenty of strength to it?

I am running this exact setup in my 2011. I had Modern Performance Engineering out of FL machine the carrier for me. They charge $300 if you send them your carrier, or they will sell you a new factory LSD that is already machined for $899. It would be very easy for you to sell your current setup.

Or get with me when you are back in town. I'm kicking around the idea of supercharging my truck. If I do, I will have to step back down to either 3.92's or 4.10's because I will run out of gear in the 1/4 mile. It would be very easy for us to just swap axles if you want.

Ill be back from the 19th till the end of the year and then i have to head up to Colorado. How much would you want from me to swap the axels or would you want to just do a direct swap? I've got the 4.10s right now. You think with supercharging it you will run out of gear with the 4.56s? i would love to supercharge my truck but i dont think ill ever have the funds for it honestly.

With my current setup, I am crossing the traps in 3rd gear at 5900 rpms. With an extra 100-125hp, my trap speed should be about 6-7mph higher which would definitely put me in 4th gear.

I was thinking just an even swap if we did this. I have $1500 in parts alone on my rear axle with a brand new machined LSD, Yukon 4.56 gears, and new bearing kit. I'm not completely sold on the blower idea just yet, so don't wait on me if you are in a hurry. If you don't mind the 2 week down time, your cheapest option will be to ship your carrier out to Josh at MPE.

If thats all the trap you will gain then its not worth the money imo

7mph in the 1/4 mile is huge. Its not a big deal if you are going from 93mph to 100mph, but going from 100mph to 107mph takes a lot of power. And at 107mph, I would be into 4th gear with 4.56's and 28" slicks. 4th gear at WOT under those power levels is a recipe for blown transmissions.
