How many 4th gen 5.7 out there with over 200k ?

300k?

How many hours ?
Did you have to replace anything out of the normal?

I have a 2015 im putting about 30k miles a year on. I am close to 120k and kind-of want to trade it in....but on the other side..ive taken pretty good care of it..and most of my miles are 65mph on an easy 30 mile long road to work...I kind of want to see how long I can make it go. I've never kept a vehicle past 200k.

You might want to add that people with over 200k also list their idle hours versus run hours. Many opinions are that high idle hours = cam & lifter failure. Also they should list if they have replaced their cam & or lifters.

After graduating drag racing on back country roads, most of my vehicles exceeded 200k and were still running when I sold them. I just replaced my 06 Corolla this Spring. It had over 750k when I gave it away. My 97 Ram had over 260k when I traded it in on a Jeep.

Quality self maintenance, quality oil, and quality filters make all the difference.

I've never cared for giving shops my business.I have done at least 99%of all my maintenance and repair.Including rebuilds, suspension work and fluid changes. It's the way I roll.Shops are a hassle, can do shoddy work and are overpriced on most things imo.And some won't even stand behind their work as they should

I'm at 291,000+ on my 2014. No issues with engine or transmission. I put 362,000+ on my last 2005 Ram. Transmission went out at 182,000.

Does it have an 8 speed and if so have you serviced it?

So the cam was replaced and they only replaced half of the lifters? Why not all 16 since there was a new cam?

I didnt find out about it until it was completed. I would have paid for the rest of them but there was nothing I could have done about it. It's all under a lifetime warranty.

I've never saw a mechanic or shop only replace half lifters etc. They already have it all torn down.

That is really sweet and thanks for being honest with the list of stuff that's been done along with the maintenance.

I don't think I've seen or read of a 2009+ Ram 1500 hemi with more than that 160-180k mile mark without having at least some valvetrain work done.

Your zf8 also did see a pan full of new fluid too I would presume, when the valve body was replaced. Not sure it would have gone the distance without that.

I'll hit 240k by this weekend. Engine was replaced at 170k. Warranty only provided for a used one with half the miles. I would have paid the 1K difference for a remanufactured. Anyway...no issues with the replacement engine. No issues with the tranny or transfer case. Rear diff rebuilt at 209k. Front bearings replaced at 210k. I disabled the MDS following the engine replacement. When the time comes I'll actually install a MDS delete kit.

Did it with a hand held tuner (in my case a Diablo). I don't remember the process to do it without a tuner, but I do remember that was an "every time you drive it" kind of thing.

Use the gear selector buttons on the steering wheel and choose the top gear - the transmission will still cycle through all gears but will never engage MDS. This is what I do almost every time I drive my truck.

Do i have that option? I just have the console shifter so what your saying is put that shifter so it says 5 or 6 on the dash gear selector indicator and mds will not engage?

If i have to do that everytime it would be a little annoying. Is there a tuner i can buy where i can make mds off permanently?
