But what is the ride like? Is it suitable for my family(wife, 5 yr old, and newborn) to ride comfortably? Or is it pretty ridgid??

the spring rate on the BellTech are stiffer than the stock the SP shocks are firm. But the ND I've read that they are just a little bit softer, I agree with unbroken adjustable shocks are better. I just wish I could find them for my 2wd

QA1 has adjustable shocks that work on our 2wds. That's what I run.

how much are those if you dont mind me asking...since you plan on going pretty far with the performance on your truck have you ever thought about getting coilovers put in instead?

I think they were about 650 for all 4. I thought about coil overs...may revisit it later but it's not on my short list of mods right now.

If you don't mind me asking... what is the model number of the shocks you have on your truck.

:Whoa: Coilovers I was not aware they made them for our trucks. Maybe I should look into getting a set

I don't have the part numbers anymore...sorry. I can't get onto the site I posted them on anymore.
Nobody makes a bolt in coilover....you'd have to weld in the upper crossmember then pick your shocks and springs to get the performance you're after.

I went by length...actually got the short shock length info from Bell Tech.
The rear shocks are listed on QA1's site as being for a 1/2 ton Chevy truck. I had to swap the top bushings out for ones with a smaller diameter. Those come with the bars on the bottom...I took those out and put them on the front shocks then notched one side so the bolt holes would line up.

sounds like you had to do some modifying to get it to work... I wish they made more stuff for our trucks

Sometimes if you want something you make it work....kinda what modifying vehicles is all about. I have several things on my truck that aren't on any others.

I know this question is totally off the chart of what you guys were chatting about. Are the bolt head on our trucks metric?? Trying to make sure I have the right socket set for the impact gun. Also, I had a guy at 4 wheel parts tell me that if I run my stock 20" rim and tires while running a 3/5 that it will rub and I will have to pull in my fenders? WTF???? Is this true?

Factory tire and Belltech 2/4 kit and a coil cut off the rears for a 2/5. I'd just start with the 2/4 and then go from there when you need to get new tires, pick a tire close to 31.5-32" tall.

So, are you saying my stick 20's wouldn't fit if I did the 3/5? I'm confused? Didn't you do a 3/6 with 20's? I just notice a lot of people running 22's on a 2/4 so I figured 20's would do fine with a 3/5. But I am new at all of this so I am no expert.

its not the size of the rim that is going to affect you its the tire size

Yes, you'll likely have problems with the stock tires at 3" in the front.

Yes, I have 20s, but I'm using a 30.5" tall tire. The rim size doesn't matter, only the outside diameter of the tire.

I just looked and I am running a 275/55 rather than what stock calls for which is 275/60. No sure how much of a difference that makes. Prob not much.

That's roughly a 31.25"-31.5" tire depending on make so that's good news. Easiest way to find out for sure though is measure your fender gap and see if you can lose 3" comfortably. I think you'll be ok with 3".

You guys are great, thanks for the help. Oh, what about the bolt heads? Are they metric?

It's a mixed bag really. All the big stuff is SAE or it has an equivalent in SAE, some small things are metric.
