4x4 shifter moves up

I have a 97 ram 1500 what could cause my 4x4 shifter to raise when accelerating or trying to do brake burns ?

It means your transfer case is moving under torque. It is going to move, but moving up and down is usually a sign of trans mount going bad.

Or an engine mount; you're getting too much twist.

thanks I thought it was a bad tranny mount but needed a second opinion as for engine mounts they are brand new
