I have #3 Non-MDS lifter bearing failure on my 2013 RAM 5.7L.
Lifter's 5038785AD & 5038786AD.
I'm installing the 6.2L oil pump 68195993AD to increase the volume of oil to the lifter's. However when I pulled the lifter's out they were soaked with oil so I tend to believe the stock lifter's are of poor quality, I know the roller bearings changed in 2016.
I'm replacing the Cam with the 6.4L MDS OEM Cam 5038419AB.
The stock 5.7 valve springs 68080909AB have 5.7L & 6.4L listed under OEM replacement parts.
The 6.4L OEM springs 68277306AA, they don't have the 5.7L listed as a replacement parts.
So, do I need to replace the springs for the 6.4L Cam?
Or, can I just add a shim to the stock 5.7L springs or leave them as is?
(My stock springs have pink paint on them, I assume that's to identify them).
The Mopar site doesn't list any specs on the springs.
Thanks,
Bruce
