I've been really enjoying my 2021 Laramie with the 5.7 eTorque. However, my mileage for the first 1k miles is disappointing. I'm averaging 16mpg in mixed driving, mainly in the country.
I replaced my 2018 RAM 2500 with the 6.4 and I averaged 14mpg with it. I can't believe that this truck is only getting 16.

What are y'all experiencing?

Thanks!

Chad

That's not far from what I've been getting for short trips to town and around. Winter in Michigan kills the mileage, especially with remote start, and time spent idling brings it down quickly. On longer trips I get about 20 mpg.

Short trips around town, the on board computer runs in the mid 14 range on winter gas and mid 16 range during the summer. As previously stated, remote starts may be part of that. On long highway trips, it pushes up to just under 20. The best I ever got the lie-o-meter to read was a little over 20 during a trip that spent a lot of time on country 2 lane roads. I guess 55-60 is better than 75-80 for mileage. Hand calculated on one trip gave me low 18 with about 80/20 hwy/city. CCSB, 5.7 eT, 3.92, AT tires, 17k

short trips will kill the average..the 8 sp is a great trans but has a very low 1st gear so stop and go will eat gas. I dont have the e-hemi and I get 20-21 on the highway cruising at 75 mph..

If you aren't in stop and go traffic with stoplights, you won't see gains with e-torque over a regular hemi. Fuel mileage is different for every truck and every driver. If you learn to hypermile your mileage will be really great, but otherwise it is what it is. Just enjoy the ride.

The mileage for me has been very disappointing. Driving west Texas at 70 -75 mph and cruise control, I get a rock solid 15mpg on 87 or 93 octane. My drives are between 65 and 150 miles each way. I drive with the adaptive cruise control so lead foot is not a concern. I wanted a 3.6 but the dealer said the etorque should give me within 1 mpg of the v6. I have 1300 miles on the truck and now dive my GC that gets almost double the mileage. I had a 2019 F150 eco that got 22mpg day in and day out.

I am taking off the 22" wheels and putting on 20" wheels and Michelin LTX tires and will let you know if that makes a difference.

17k miles so far with the 'Etrq' Hemi and disappointing mileage seems to be the norm.

Lifetime is hovering around high 15's low 16's and dropping like a rock with winter fuel. Last couple tanks have been in the low 15's high 14's with my mostly highway driving and longer 30+ mile commute.

Every previous truck I've owned, including gas HD trucks got better mileage.

Like the truck, but this is a bit ridiculous.

I'm a little over 4k miles and am averaging 16.7 mpg hand calculated. The truck's trip computer says I'm getting 17.3mpg. Right now remote start is killing my avg. I drive to work 2-3 times a week with a 70 mile round trip 80% highway. The other days I'm teleworking and doing normal short trips around town taking the kids to their activities. I also have the 3.92 rear end and I've read that hurts mpg as well.

My first 5-8k miles I didn't get great mpg. However, it did get better. I have put every fill up into fuelly.com and have gotten 19.2 mpg since I have owned the truck. Which I am happy with since I remember the days of getting like 10 mpg in my old 78 chevy.

Don't watch that gauge on the dash. Just figure it the old fashion way. I have seen numbers low as 10 and upwards 29. My truck has a smaller tank. Were as my f150 had a 30-gallon tank and that messed with my head too. I stopped worrying about it. I put that screen on my Radio settings. It's been fine since.

For what it's worth I just picked up a demo with 5384 miles. Trip "A" has never been reset and reads 5772 miles @ 18.3 mpg. Instrument panel read 14.1 mpg which I reset as soon as I bought it now reads 20.6 mpg. Trip A now reads 18.4 mpg.
Better than my Tundra was.
