5.7 hemi voltage drop on send circuit

I have a 2011 ram 1500 5.7. What is the normal voltage drop on alternator send red/grey wire on alternator and positive battery terminal? I have 3 volt drop. No charging issues yet. But truck will randomly die. See voltage drops to zero on scan tool on control voltage. Have read this is high.
