I always felt the throaty exhaust sound on the 5.7 and 6.4's are unbeatable.

I have a Solo Mach 40 bolt on I got from @Nick@GotExhaust and I think its pretty much what you're looking for. Its louder than stock but not obnoxious to the point where your neighbors get upset.
I put the Solo MR400 on my 3500 and a 5 inch Gibson clamp on tip. It sounds pretty good to me. Had the Carven Competitor on my 1500. MY wife called it obnoxious.

And my wife loves the sound of the competitor on my truck lol ... she hears other Rams with obviously other exhaust systems and she says they sound like toys lol

I had the change of listening to how the Gibson, Corsa, Borla and I think widow something and I didn't like the sound of either of them of at all ... Gibson came close to what Carven sounded like but had a crackle that I didn't like ... Corsa sounded like a video game and Borla was too muffled .... but that's my personal opinion

Depends on what tone and how loud you want the exhaust to be. Regardless.... Would NOT recommend to purchase from B2 fabrication. You will fight a poor fit and exhaust leaks on the 18" muffler for the classis model.

I have a 2020. 5.7 5th Generation and was looking for the same sound. I got a Borla 40359 Pro XS, I love it sounds just like I wanted it too, a nice deep rumble with no drone. I left all the other parts of the exhaust OEM.

I have the Magnaflow Direct Fit #19439 and it's awesome! It does grunt when I start it cold in the morning, neighbours surely hear it. I also have 5" tips going on this week. ;)

When I drive on the highway, it's pretty quiet until you open it up again! :)

Magnaflow 18 inch with an additional exhaust pipe to make up for shorter new muffler and left the resonator on, and added a short black tip. All bolt on bolt off with an additional set of clamps and a saw. Did mine in an hour laying underneath it (69 years old). I've had Magnaflows on this 2020 Ram, my 05 shortbed Ram, and a stainless dual system on my Magnum RT. It has a throaty start up and healthy acceleration noise but calms to a slight purr above stock at smooth speeds. It reminds me of the old glass packs from the fifties and sixties.....healthy sounding and leaving the resonator on keeps the typical Hemi drone from driving you out of the truck.

I have been thinking about doing the custom side exit exhausts myself ... how much did you pay for yours?
Mine came already on the truck. The truck was ordered that way from the factory. Installed by Prefix Performance as an upgrade option for the Minotaur.

On my 03 Ram I installed TTI long tube headers, dual cats, and 3” cat back single pipe MBRP system. It was a beautiful fit and finish and sounded great….around town. But at highway cruise speeds, 60-70mph, drone was unbearable after a few years. I took off the MBRP muffler and put a stock replacement (hot water tank?) muffler back on. So last month I saw YouTube vid that shows how to calculate the length of a 1/4 wave tuned pipe that cancels out the drone. You install this extra pipe to you system upstream of the muffler. If you get the length correct close it does a rather good job of it. May be worth a search if end up with drone. The pipe is dead ended btw, it bounces a wave back at the exhaust pulse which cancels out the drone frequency.

I searched up the vid link that I watched on Youtube so here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9CrmkIxDQU I must also state that I never installed one of these. My 03 left my ownership in late 2018. I'm now in a 2018 4x4 RAM Sport which I intend to leave stock in the exhaust department. Pictured is my O3 SLT which was ready for a trip south to "The Dragon" in Tennessee. It was on this trip south that the drone was more than a little rude while keeping up with traffic.

Roncad, seems like a good but simple solution. Can you share a video clip with sound?

You can just get a jpipe from mufflex that does the same thing which is what I might end up getting if for some reason my Carven Competitor decides to get louder or more drone
