5.7l hemi oil change ???

I have a 2011 sport with the 5.7l hemi. Went and got my oil (Mobil 1) and I was told 7 qts is what it takes.....is this correct? Also how long are u guys going between changes with similar setup/ oil? Thanks a bunch!

7qt and you can go around 7k on Mobil One but you will want a filter that has synthetic fiber and not paper. Paper filters wont last that long.

7qt and you can go around 7k on Mobil One but you will want a filter that has synthetic fiber and not paper. Paper filters wont last that long.

I got the matching Mobil 1 filter.

Well seeing as the dealer is paying for my first year of oil changes (unlimited) whenever I see fit :D. All the info sounds correct though.

Are you sure they don't just allow the recommended service intervals in the manual (every 8,000 miles)?

Although many recommend, you don't have to use synthetic oil, nor filters. The dealer doesn't. The manual says as long as the oil is a certain weight, and meets Chrysler's spec, it's good enough for the recommended intervals. When DIY, synthetic is cheap insurance, and won't cost much more over a 6 month period. A DIY synthetic oil change cost about the same as a dino change if you pay someone else to do it.
