I've never had fuel coming out of my tail pipes, but I can tell a couple times I'm pushing a little more fuel through my motor than I should, exhaust smells like raw gas.

I don't see a TB on that list. :hidesbehindsofa:

From what I've *heard* Sean doesn't put as much timing and fueling into his tunes as he could and even his custom tunes are more generic than Ryan's.....BUT, Ryan tunes for each truck, so his are a little more exact.

and you wont :flipthebird: :****sweak:

If you'll hold onto it and won't screw me over I'll buy your SC off you. lol

A question for you all. I know someone that has a used Flashpaq 3842 for sale. He said he returned his truck to stock settings, question is....once this thing has been used, can it be used on a different truck as well? Or is it locked into the vin number of the original owner??? Thanks in advance.

Yes it can as long as the vehicle was returned to stock like you mentioned it has been. In fact the superchips I have is used. Mines a 3865 model or something like that but the only difference is minor software updates.

I f you get one, make sure you update it online first, before you plug into your truck.

Is there a reason for that, or just to check for any new updates on the unit?

Yes, there is a reason, it wont work without it,lol. There is a post on here where that exact thing happened. In the reviews section where i got mine there was a comment there about that, so first thing i did was update. And, it doesnt matter that its used either.

Ok guess that answered that...but, the owner said it had been reset, ready to go. what does that mean?
Another question. Today I was under the passenger door [it's a 2 door], and there are 2 black plastic containers. One is round, the other is kind of rectangle, butted against each other. Looks like the are hoses coming off them. Is this pollution related? Will it hurt to remove them? Where I am there is no emissions control by the state..

Reset means he put the factory tune back in his truck, so the performance tune is back in the handheld unit. Best way i can describe it. The things under truck are evap system parts. I would not disconnect anything. It does not hinder performance at all.

I thought the 2 pieces were part of the evap system, I just didn't know if after 120K miles if they might clog and effect performance at all. At idle, I have an ever so slight stumble, not always, but occasionally. Thought that might have something to do with it. It has new plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor etc..also cleaned the throttle body out a bit as well. It idles at about 600rpm, I barely touch the gas, idle goes to about 1K or so, keep my foot in the exact same place, idle will drop back to 600...Normal?

Do you have any check eng lights? Kinda sounds like a vacum leak. Use any oil? Have you checked the plentum gasket? Go through and check all the vacum lines under the hood. When I bought my truck the cruise didnt work, turned out to b a vacum line crack. They get brittle over the years so check em out. There is a ton of info on this site about how to check the plentum gasket.

No check engine lights, I have checked all the vacuum lines, no oil usage at all. Again, the stumble is very slight, and only happens occasionally. I have had the truck a few months, don't know what kind of gas the previous owner used. I use only Chevron [standard oil] with Techron in it, also have ran a couple bottles of Royal Purple fuel system cleaner in it. The stumble used to be worse than it is now. The plenum thing puzzles me though.

Ok guys, I'm not trying to be a pain here. On some research on the Superchips 3842....I am reading some negative stuff, hard to install, doesn't live up to it's billing, "some" say it's just not worth it. Anyone here had any issues, problems with this thing? Again, I am not computer literate...and just looking for a little better throttle response, maybe a bit better gas mileage. Not off roading, not racing it at all. Sorry if I am being a bit repetitive here, but this is all new to me. Being very old school can be a pain. Thanks again

I've had mine on about 6 months now with zero issues. Re-flashed 3 times so far. The research i did before i bought it wasnt too hateful. I think the biggest problem i read about was installing it.

That is my concern above all else. I am in the truest sense "computer illiterate". I have this fear I will mess up and my truck will never run again!!!!!!!!!!
