Hello all, first time poster long time lurker. Getting ready to do the upgrade from a 5 inch to 12 inch and I’m looking for what all settings I need to change with Alfa. Most everything has been from going from 8.4 to 12 but almost nothing about 5 to 12. It looks like for sure I need to change ICS and DCSD but I’ve seen different things for the HVAC. Will I need too change something for dual climate zone or anything else? Thanks in advanced.

I saw user Rusty R did the upgrade, maybe they can help. Can't link to them for some reason. Do a search for 12 inch radio upgrade and the post should be one of first results.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. Maybe do a step by step with pictures and share for others. Before and after pictures would be cool to see, how it makes your dash look even more high tech.

I got it installed, so far poking around I only had to change 3 things, the ICS, the DCSD and change the climate control to dual zone ATC. Some features are a little wonky so far but it seems to take a couple key cycles for the BCM to fully recognize changes.

Okay so the only thing that’s not working is the back up camera. It’s acting like it doesn’t even recognize I put the truck in reverse. Anyone ran into this?

We have ran into this before. First thing to try is setting the vehicle's year in the BCM to 2024. This many times gets the backup camera working if the vehicle only has backup camera. If you have 360 camera that is a different story.

Awesome, I’ll try that. Only the regular camera thankfully.

Switched it to 24 and nothing, switched back to 21. Checked other camera settings on Alfa and set CHSML camera to on, as well as digital CMHSL camera to on and no change. Any other ideas?

Change those CHMSL settings back to no.

Go into the alfaobd settings and check the box for “do not verify ECU”.

Connect to the body computer as 2022 Powernet.

Change VehConfig 1: Model Year to either 2023 or 2024.

Change Radio & Connectivity: Head Unit Screen Size to R1 12.3’ 1920x720.

Reboot the radio twice in a row by pressing and holding the power button on the left radio knob for 15 seconds.
