I think the HD trucks may still use the Gen4 HVAC assembly.
Not sure how many miles are on the truck but the HD trucks seem to have a higher occurrence of the heater core plugging up. The first signs is the driver side is not as warm (or just cold) compared to the passenger side. The plenum is divided top an bottom and the bottom feeds the driver's side which is also the bottom of the heater core.
There's multiple posts on the forum about the problem

So it would be under the heater core?
This might help:
Only trucks with the dual zone ATC will have the actuator behind the HVAC box.

What did you come up with on this? Got the same issue going on. Very little heat on the driver side.

Search the forum for clogged heater core or no heat... there are a few hundred posts that address what is typically the culprit. Better than 90% of the time, it's a clogged heater core. You can try backflushing the core to sometimes restore the heat, but a lot of the time you'll end up replacing the heater core to solve the problem.
