Yes, if they take the new 1500 design and give it a more substantial look with some more oomph on the curves, it may be a winner. I am guessing the bed will be identical to 1500, as with the 4th gen.

A little bummed RE carry over powertrain but I get it - plenty of risk with all the other changes already.

Kind of looks like an Infiniti Q whatever their big SUV is grille through that mesh stuff. It shouldn't take much to look better than Ford's new HD trucks.

this is what ive been waiting to see!

in some of those shots it looks like they are using the same headlights as the 1500, i hope not cause they looked small on those, with the nose on the 2500 typically being bigger, the small headlights would really odd

most likely not, the Aisin probably going away too along with the current 6 speed.
Looks like a 8 speed ZF transmission will be going into the HD line up(no more column shifter). I've seen the test mules, including a CCLB 3500 Dually CTD

That's good news, a 6.7 Cummins with 8 speed zf would be a huge upgrade from the 68rfe.....

It may be possible Ram will put the rotary shifter in the HD, but I'd be surprised. I think plowing would be a pain in the ass with it and may be more prone to break with constant use for hours. I thought I also read somewhere the reason plow manufacturers stopped selling their 1/2 ton plows for the 8 speed Rams was something to do with the rotary knob.

Looks like i may be ordering a 2020 hd built to my specs....
I'm retiring in 4 or 5 years, so my company can pay for it and I'll keep it when I sell out.
That will give me time to delete, do head studs etc. And get it set up how I want.

I'd like to see the rotary shifter in the HDs. I know this is very subjective but I find the rotary much easier to use and also more robust than the column shifter.

Don't know where you picked up that ugly rumor regarding snow plows for 1/2 ton RAMs. Google showed current offerings for the RAM 1500 from Meyer, Western, BOSS, Fisher, and the list went on.

I don’t remember where I read it. But I just did a quick look on Boss, Western and Meyer. Boss says no applications recommended for this vehicle if I select a newer model Ram. Meyer’s guide lists up till MY ’12 (right before they introduced the 8 speed). Western does seem like they will sell you one on a new Ram based on their configurator. I thought even they weren’t last I checked though.

Don't know what is going on, went to Snow Plows direct, selected a Meyers snow plow, configured the plow for a 2013 RAM 1500 and walla, got a part number and price.

I don't see how selecting a transmission gear, be it a lever or knob, would have any effect on a snow plow.

It wouldn't be the transmission, but the BW 44-44 transfer case and the electric steering, Ram is concerned of overloading the power steering and repetitive transfer case slipping will cause it to over heat.
They do offer specific snow plows for 1/2 ton truck, Western has one. The ones available are lightweight/light duty plow for residential use.

It doesn’t look too much different then the 1500. I was expecting something to distinguish them like the 4th gens do
