so i have a 50 series on my truck now and its too quite for my liking. does anyone know if the stock 1500 duals can be used on the 2500? i was thinking of running 3" in and dual 2.5" which is what the 1500 is.

As long as you don't have the rear self leveling air system on it a single in/dual out system is easy to do on your truck.

I have seen it done before but if you want it set up like the 1500 you'd also need the 1500 bumper with the exhaust tip cut outs. Unless you're really dying for the look I would just do what Nick suggested.

Doesn't the 6.4l have 3 1/2 in exhaust?

Yes indeed.

I have seen someone with a 2500 run a custom 3.5 inch dual set up and then use the 1500 bumper and tips at the back. It looked very OEM and sounded great but kind of a lot of work and money unless you really have to have the look. If money wasn’t an object I’d say go for it. Ram actually did this set up themselves on the Macho Power Wagon concept truck a couple years back. But I think that truck used some massive 5 inch tips or bigger even.

I have seen on a 2500 diesel on this forum that used dual 4in I think he had to remove the rear spare to get it done. To the OP I think the dual 2 1/2 is fine but I wouldn't choke it down to a 3in Inlet I would get a 3 1/2 in dual 2.5 out. If you want louder than a 50 series for flow master step to a 44 or a 40. In the magnaflow go to a 14in long muffler. Hope this helps.

I've ran a few different set ups and and the weak link on these trucks is the y pipe. Have that cut out and run a dual in dual out muffler. I couldn't believe how much more power I gained doing this. My muffler choice was a spintech and I then swapped to a flowmaster super 44. This is personal taste tho.

Buy headers, won't be quiet anymore. I promise.
