Hi. I'm looking to switch to a gas engine from a cummins. I tow a few times a week for work, usually under 10k pounds. I'm heavily leaning towards the 4.10s since I want to level it and put on 35s. Anyone know the mpg difference between the two gear ratios?

Anyone with the Hemi and 4.10s level theirs and put on 35s? If so, how does it do?

If you are going with the 6.4 and are towing like you said, and putting on bigger tires...definitely go 4.10. Mine is 3.73 and I almost bought one with the 4.10. I drove two almost identical trucks back to back on the exact same rout. One had 4.10 and the other had 3.73. The 4.10 showed better MPG than the 3.73 did.

I'm of the belief that 4.10's will get you better mileage in town but slightly lower on the highway.

there will be essentially no difference. I have a PW on 35's which would be the same as a regular 2500 or 3500 as far as drag and get good mpg. I never get less than 12mpg and generally around 14-16mpg. up to high 17's on the highway keeping it 65-70mph

A friend of mine has a 2021 tradesman Hemi 2500 long bed 4x4, 50gal tank with 4.10's. He lives in open country, so a lot of his daily driving is highway/freeway, not exactly interstate. He claims around and just under 15mpg, personal best was 15.9mpg on an interstate road trip and not towing of course.
He pulls a goose neck two horse trailer with living quarters a few times a month for rodeos. His guess is it's a 12k pound trailer and he gets 8.5-9mpg towing.

At Highway speeds of 65 mph there is 160 RPM difference between the two gear sets on 33" tires, would be slightly less on 35s. Thus, essentially no difference. The 4:10s will be more popular on resale. 2500 gas with 3:73s on 33" tires, first highway trip. With 5000 miles on it, best was 22.1 mpg over 300 miles with a heck of a tail wind. Worst was 12.5, 250 mile in low range. Overall average to date 15.5 mpg. No towing.

I've got a Tradesman 3500 with the 6.4 hemi, 4.10 gears and am running 35's.
Leveling kit on the front with 2.5" lift and use Timber Grove bags on the rear, as I have a full time camper. I'm still <5000 miles with a blend of 70-75mph freeway and a fair amount of 4wd. We just did an 800 mile trip to Death Valley and did several 60 mile stretches of offroad. Mileage with a boxy camper is 10-12mpg. Love the 4.10 gears in low range.

I did use the forged eyebolts from FWC with my Tundra for ten years. Now, I've got a different set installed with 3/16" aluminum backing plates.

The installer left the edges sharp, so I broke the edges with a grinder and rounded the corners. I think they are a 3/8" eyebolt.

I upgraded the turnbuckles to forged hook, stainless Torklift units for setting up the RAM.

Hope that helps.

Thanks to all who posted. Heavily leaning even more towards a gasser. Thinking Ram 2500 Limited CC SB 6.4 Hemi 4.10s
