Anyone ever swap a 6.4l with 8spd into a truck that came with a 5.7l & 6spd?

Do a search on here,and you'll find a couple write ups on the 8 speed swap,swapping the engine is pretty easy,you just need to tune for it

This might be a stupid question, but if you buy a full donor truck couldn't you just take the ECU from it and not need a tuner? My 09 for example would just "identify" as a 2020 or whatever year I took it from.

The only trucks with a factory 6.4 and 8 speed are the HD's after 2019.If you're doing it like you want,you'd probably want to swap all the wiring including dash and modules from a newer HD with the 6.4 and 8 speed.Easier just to tune you're existing pcm for the 6.4.That only works if you use a stock truck 6.4,won't work if you wanted to use the higher compression car 6.4
