2022 2500 6.4L. My first 2500. On all of my previous 1500s, I have changed out the restrictive Y Pipe with a Magnaflow. I believe the main pipe going to the muffler is 3 1/2", but I don't know the size coming out of the Cats. Can anyone enlighten me? Does Magnaflow even make a Y Pipe for it?

I think I saw High Flow Cats into a Y Pipe kit, but I can't find it again. And I don't remember who manufactured it.

Maybe eliminate the Y Pipe by running duel pipes from the Cats to a duel in single out muffler?

What have ya'll done or know what will work?

Thanks

1. Find measuring tape.
2. Determine pipe size.
3. Buy appropriate size x or y pipe or muffler of your choice.
4. Have it welded in.
5. Enjoy the Hemi sound!

lots of room on a 1500 should be even more on a 2500

It really is a stupid design.

The stupid is the manifolds. The pipe just matches. Just changing out the Y pipe is a waste of time if you dont do headers,

You mean the manifolds that have effected thousands of owners since 2009 and they (FCA) only put a band-aid on the problem and you are SOL if they break the bolts again? Those manifolds? lol

2 1/2" out of the Cats into a 3 1/2" to the muffler.

Yes it is a stupid design. That's why I changed every one of my 1500s over the years.

It does make a difference even without installing headers. Obviously not as much, but some non the less. My last 1500 Y Pipe and muffler swap was worth an estimated 20 HP and 1.5 MPGs highway.

I can't seem to find a Y Pipe with dual 2 1/2" in to 3 1/2" out. Nor can I find a muffler with the same setup.

I've talked to 3 local muffler shops. None of them want to attempt to make a Y Pipe. I was hoping someone on here had it done and could tell me how they did it, or had it done. For now I'll just do the muffler swap and hope someday I can figure out how to bypass that factory crap of a Y Pipe and get better flow to the muffler.

Things that didnt happen for 100$ ALEX.

Seriously dude a 6.4 Intake swap is about 40HP ...lol... Unless you have Time Slips or Dyno #s to prove it I find that verry hard to believe.

You'd have to get reducers for the "in" side

Alex is dead Dude. Just because you don't believe it doesn't mean its wrong. Multitudes of Ram owners on this site have done the Y Pipe swap and swear by it. The factory design really is that bad. Thanks for your input though...lol...

Thank You. This is what this site is for. Those of us who don't know ask a question and knowledgeable people such as yourself point us in the right direction.

Yes Sir. I don't know how much power it adds. I just know it improves throttle response, feels like more power, and gets a little better MPGs on the highway. Not so much in town because its funner to drive.
