New to the group. Thanks for the add. I' sure this question has been asked but still learning how to use this site. Looking at getting a lift for my new to me 2016 Laramie longhorn 4x4. Local shop recommends super lift cause they are mopar approved and won' mess with my factory warranty. The shop that wasn' sure if the factory 20's would work with the lift. Anyone familiar with this? I like the look of the factory wheels and don' want to get aftermarket. Thanks.

Welcome! MOPAR sells renamed 4" superlift kit, that if installed by dealer, supposedly won't void warranty. A 6" superlift installed by a shop will not be the same. There's kind of a grey area and difference in what people will tell you about a lift voiding a warranty. Lots of threads on here regarding that subject. You can run your factory wheels with the lift, but they will require spacers to clear the knuckles. Get a good quality hubcentric spacer and you'll be fine. Most go with 1.5" from B.O.R.A. Here's a pic of my set up on factory wheels for reference, 6" lift

I had a 2011 big horn had the dealer put on a 4 inch lift mopar/super lift. And everything was under warranty. Anything that the dealer doesn't put on most likely will void your suspension factory warranty. I burned up 2 front drive shafts all covered under warranty no questions asked. The reason my front drive shaft kept breaking is because superlift had to much of an angle on the shaft when installed from the lift kit.

OP, I’m running 35’s on the same stock rims you have (best looking factory rim IMHO) with a 4” Superlift and no spacers..........

My dealer installed 4" Mopar Superlift with 35s. Was told by 2 dealers that even if it's dealer installed the warranty is only good for 2 years.1555.jpeg 0504171311.jpg

The dealer is actually pretty wrong. At least from my understanding. I had a 6 inch lift installed at the dealer (they did it and was this way before I purchased it). The lift components that the dealer used ( likely a third party ) are still under their own warranty, and the truck it self still has it's own warranty. If you're engine blows up for instance, the lift didn't cause that. the only way a dealer can say no warranty claim on something is if the lift kit directly contributed to the part being warrantied. I.E if your upper control arm breaks because you wen't off road to get to a job site, and you have a lift, they could possibly say the lift did it. though, even that might be sketchy. The normal warranty still remains on lifted trucks, even if the dealer didn't install the lift. I've had my truck in for numerous items and they fix them every time without issue. If you check out geico, they actually provide a mechanical breakdown service for NEW trucks under 12k miles, and they will cover lift components. I had my rear extended break line break, and they purchased me a new one :)

What I meant was that the lift was only under warranty for 2 years. The rest of the truck still maintains the original warranty.

You can never get a straight answer. One dealer Said you had to buy 4" mopar lift and they install to keep warranty, another dealer Said it had to be a mopar lift but Anyone could install it and yet another dealer near me sells trucks with 6in bds lifts and come with full warranty
