so I have a new 60 inch tailgate bar with reverse leds. The ones that go between the tailgate and the bumper. But I have a question. On my chevy the spare tire jack holet wasn't in the way as it is here...what are people doing to get over this?

According to my buddy who did this to his 2002, take off the rubber gasket that lines the hole, then there's space to put in the bar.

I haven't tried it, and neither has he with anything newer than a 2002, but he swears the hole was about as much in the way as it is in our newer ones.

I used 3m dual lock faster on the back of the bar and on the truck. That way you can remove it to lower the spare tire.

I just out mine in below the plastic hole thing and I was good to go. That was on my 2011. When I needed the spare the spare tool rubbed a bit on the LED strip but didn't ever do damage

My bar sits right about that raised part. No problems and can be seen fine from the back.
