6cyl enough power for lift or 35" tires? Or go Leveled with 33" tires?

I have a 2019 1500 5th gen 2WD and thinking of going with the Maxxtrac 4"/1" Spindle lift Kit or the Ready lift 3.5" lift Kit to fit 35" tires x 12.5" W, around -18 offset with 20" or 22" rims

Question is I went with the 6cyl Etorque engine over the hemi as I don't tow and didn't need the extra power.
I average around 20mpg now and hoping I only drop down to 17-18mpg

I'm having trouble deciding on lifting with 35" tires vs leveling with 33" tires

I had a 2020 4th gen ram I sold with a hemi as I was only getting 12-13mpg average after installing the Maxtrac 4.5"/3" with 35" tires.

I love the ride and the power of the 6cyl 5th gen, just don't like the stock look with the rake

Any suggestions?

2WD, you only have one pumpkin so you can swap gears cheaper than a 4WD. That gear ratio is going to be a pretty big factor on if you have enough power or not, however you define "enough", but going to a numerically higher gear set will helpl counteract the bigger tires.

Like said, you saw a big drop in fuel economy with the mods you did to your 2020 Ram 1500 hemi. You will see the same massive drop with the pentastar w/ the same mods, regardless of the E-torque.

In terms of power, the pentastar will handle it. I owned a 2017 Ram 1500 pentastar and currently own a 2019 classic w/ hemi. I got 22mpg tank/tank with my pentastar and get 20mpg tank/tank w/ my hemi. Both stock.

20mpg with the hemi? You must be driving a long distance daily.

Thanks
I'm now thinking of a lower lift Kit
Mopar 2" lift OEM , fabtech makes a 3" lift
Or just use the RC leveling struts for the front
Thinking of dropping the tire down to like a 295/60R20
Something around 34" x 11.5" w so it doesn't kill the gas mileage to bad
I do.allot of highway driving and 0 off road
So comfort is my main thing
I just want it to sit like a Ford raptor, or a chevy trail boss

I live in a rural-ish area and do very little city driving, it's hilly ski country where I live. My round trip work commute is 80 miles and mostly highway. A short trip for me is maybe 10 miles round trip. I actually do slightly better than 20mpg average. I routinely get 500 miles out of a ~24 gallon fill up and I often have MDS turned off and I get on it often.

If you're not off roading I'd go with a leveling kit and 33 inch tires and call it done. Most people can't tell the difference between 33's and 35's without a hard long look. So get the look without doing to much damage.

Thanks it would be so much cheaper to
To do something like the
2" rough country leveling struts and 33's
I'll probably do something like a -18 to -26 off set

If you sold your v8 due to poor milage and plan on lifting your v6 that honestly doesn't make much sense, kind of defeats the whole purpose. Why didn't you just get an eco diesel? Seems like that would have been your ideal scenario if you wanted to go with bigger tires. If it were me I'd enjoy your milage and get a chipped diesel next.

Yeh I hear you
I sold it because it was a Classic, and I loved the look of the newer body styles
I sold it freaking out on the gas mileage and even though the Maxtrac Spindle life was great, it still killed the stock ride between lifting it and going to Ridge Grapplers load F
So I sold it and bought a 2020 Chevy Silverado with the turbo 4cyl
Bought the Silverado truck used with 8k miles on it
2 days after purchasing it I turn the key and I see smoke come out from under the hood and truck wouldn't start.
It gets towed to the local chevy dealership and the tell me the truck had a major electrical short, shorted out the entire fuse block and 48v starter, and parts are back ordered nationwide and it could be weeks to months before I get my truck back.
A month later I get a call from the the truck is fixed.
I picked it up that morning and drove it to another dealership that had this 2019 Ram big horn with all the options in it I wanted plus the right color and motor I was looking for
The local dealerships around here have no inventory for months due to the chip shortage
So after 3 hours of going back and forth on the price with the Chevy as a trade I ended up buying the Ram
Which I love that I have now.
My problem is I hate the look of stock trucks , I love the look or the height of something like the Chevy Trailboss, and love aftermarket rims and tires on trucks. I don't think I ever owned a stock truck with stock rims and tires.
So I'm trying to do this Ram where it's not a 4-1/2" lift with 35's but maybe a 2" lift with 33's or 34's to get the look I'm after without sacrificing the ride and gas mileage.
Everyone's dream right? Lol

I've owned 2 Chevy 2500's leveled, one a 2017, one a 2018 with 35's sold both because we sold our 5th wheel camper.
Since 2020 I bought a new 2020 Chevy LTZ , 6 months later sold it didn't like it, had to much chrome for me,
Bought the 2020 Dodge ram black, loved it but i killed the ride and gas mileage freaked out and sold it.
Bought a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2nd day owning it had electrical problems in the dealership for a month
Got it back and ran to get back into the Ram 1500
I just paid $36k for a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn with 13k miles on it
Kills me a year ago I could of bought it new for that
Now I'm into the truck for $42k with Amp Research power steps and hard folding tonneau cover
By the time I add the tires rims and level I'll be around $46k
I did sell my 2020 Ram big horn lifted for $40k with the hemi with 12k miles on it (Classic )
Truck prices or any vehicle prices are just stupid high right now
So right now I'm down about $2k from the Classic Ram i sold , and still have to pay for at least leveling struts and aftermarket rims and tires.
I just don't want to kill the ride and take to much of a gas mileage hit
If I end up around 20mpg average after leveling and tires I'll be super happy
18 mpg is ok, but im.not going to freak out
I get back down in the low teens which I don't see happening that would have to cut in half I'll probably go back to stock instead of selling the truck
If I goto sell this one I'll end up loosing a bunch of money on it

I have a 2013 Bighorn V6 with a 2" level on 33"BFG KO2's and average 19 MPG if that helps. I lost 1-2 MPG's with the level and heavier AT tires.

I kind of lost count on how many vehicles you've owned in a matter of 2-3yrs Total vehicular ADHD. LOL

How was that 4cyl turbo silverado? I've only seen videos. Don't think I've ever seen one on the road.

I actually loved it. Plenty of power , smooth, did the same gas mileage I'm getting now with the Eco 6cyl , and I believe they both tow around
7,700lbs

Here's the link to here on the forums to the Ram I sold with the 4-1/2" lift, I shouldn't have looked at it, man it was a beautiful truck , lol

I have a 2018 BigHorn 4X4 CC with the V6. I went with Bilstein 5100s all around and leveled on the 2.1 setting. Stock tires were 275/60R20 street tires which are 33s. When I needed new tires I went with a XT type 275/65R20 which is a 34 inch tire. The level and slightly larger XT tire gives the truck a more athletic looking stance. I only lost 1-2 mpg overall and still get 24 mpg on the highway. It could just be my imagination but the truck feels a bit more sluggish with the heavier E load tires. Like you I don’t tow, my receiver hitch is still a ****** but I do take my vehicle off the beaten path when I go hiking. The upgraded shocks and more aggressive tires are night and day difference on dirt, gravel, rutted, logging and fire access roads without sacrificing everyday highway comfort.

I am running a very similar set up as you. I have a 2014 1500 with Hemi, ProComp SS leveling struts at 2.75”, Zone UCA’s, Suspension Maxx Sway Bar links. On the stock chrome clad wheels I put on the day before yesterday the new Cooper Discoverer Rugged Treks in 275/65r20. They run larger than most with specs saying 34.7/11.5 so slightly larger than most 285/65’s. IMO they look really good and so far have been very quiet with a ride that is stiffer in the turns which is a huge improvement over my Discoverer AT3’s while being almost as compliant on the bumps.
