6spd vs 8spd

Hello all,
I'm hoping to order a truck this week. Debating a 3500 vs 4500.
I can get away with the 3500 now but in the future may wish I had the 4500, so get it now and be done with it.
The question I have is the 3500 comes with the 8speed and the 4500 comes with the 6 speed.
Don't know how they compare. I'd be carrying a truck camper 90 some odd percent of the time. Currently about 3k but in the future may get a heavier camper in the 5k range.

in order to get the 8speed you would need a gas engine. Not sure if that is your plan or not. if so the 8 speed with the gas is a nice tranny but 4500 with gas will have a heavier duty 6 speed tranny compared to the 8speed in the 3500. Also you probably know this but the 4500 is a chassis cab only and the 3500 can be had in either chassis cab or regular box. If you want a chassis cab and going to be hauling a big 5000lb camper I would get the 4500.

The 4500 is a 6 speed aisin, right? Wouldn't worry about, it's a beast.

4500 has the payload vs the 3500 right? Take the payload on that camper.
