I have 2015 ram with factory 8.4 uconnect, suddenly my factory nav is way off, my time is off and my radio barely gets a signal, I’ve looked a few things up and tried them such as recalibration and that did not work, and it’s currently up to date for the firmware.

You likely need a SW update. (V18.45.x is latest).

What version is your radio on?
(Check settings)

Same issue here. The current UConnect software won't install because my radio is on a version that is too old. Is there another source to download previous updates so I can work my way up to current?

You're on the latest version which is supposed to correct that with an update to Sierra wireless GPS/cellular board.

You likely have a bad antenna on the roof/ bad connection to the radio or the GPS board in the radio is failing.

Same question .. what year vehicle/radio model, what radio part number, and what's the current SW version?

With the key in RUN, Use dealer mode to check... (in radio info section)

Press and hold the following 3 buttons for 5-10 secs:
TEMP UP + TEMP DWN + FRT DEFROST

(if dual Zone, use driver side up/down buttons + defrost)
.

Here's what I found. Truck is 2015 RAM 3500 Laramie Longhorn with UConnect 8.4

Additionally, when I try different USB drives now all I get is a Files Not Supported message. It's not even reading the update files. Not sure what that's about.

You have a 2015 RA4 VP4-NA Nav radio PN 68238619Ax on SW version 14.x.x (very old and out of date).

You will need to update to v17.x.x first, verify it, then update to v18.45.x.

You must have a 32gb or less fat 32 thumb drive (SanDisk is good) setup correctly with each update and keep your engine running during updates so battery voltage doesn't drop too low and brick the radio. (Which can still happen if the Sierra Wireless 3g cellular GPS board dies during the update).

For your radio, v17.43.x SW here

And then 18.45.x here

Use at your own risk

THANK YOU! I have now installed 17.43. I haven't done 18.45 yet but that's progress. Thanks so much for the help!

One thing I still see is that GPS time is still off by about 20 minutes. Is that something that should self-correct with the final update? I bought this truck used a couple years ago and when I got it the GPS time worked great. Now it's off.

Yes. 18.45.x should fix the GPS/time sync issue if the Sierra Wireless board is good. (See the TSB linked in the first post if the 18.45.x update thread)

& Yes, it can be replaced if you can find one.

Forgot to say in my original post that my sxm radio just stays on acquiring signal, not sure if that mean it’s probably the gps antenna

Possible both issues at work for your situation.

OK, 18.45 installed and working well. The GPS time now works correctly as well. Thank you, again, for the help in getting this done.

Clearly my GPS card is working fine but just for reference, is there a part number or pic for that card if I ever needed to source a replacement?

I don't know it. Have to take a radio apart to find out. Maybe out on the web somewhere
