installed MOE's 85mm ported throttle body today. took about 10min to install. my truck is a 2011 big horn, quad cab with 5.7hemi. 18k miles...
here is my short write up on installation.

removed negative terminal to battery.

removed my vararam to get access to throttle body.

immediately noticed the buildup on inside of throttle body. you can see where i swiped my finger across the middle.

unplug wire harness to throttle body.
remove 4 bolts that connect throttle body (8mm).
remove throttle body.

compare stock vs. 85mm. notice buildup on bottom of the throttle body!!

install MOE's 85mm throttle body. reinstall 4 bolts ***(BE CAREFUL TO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS!!! they are screwing into plastic, and can strip farely easily.) reconnect wire harness to throttle body.

reinstall vararam and reconnect negative terminal to battery.

forgot to mention.
i do NOT have a catch can, hence the buildup on the TB.
but hopefully i will have one by next weekend, if moe's gets their backorder.
i will take pics of that install too.

Great pics and write up. Catch cans will be shipping around the middle of next week. That side by side picture of the 2 TB's shows just how important the catch cans are.

It looks like the shaft is more centered on the new tb. Are the new ported tb's half shaft?

The TB's still use the stock shaft. Its just the angle throwing it off.

unfortunately, tb cleaning isnt on my list of maintenance. never thought id have to clean one. probably never will anyways.
once i get my catch can, im never going to look down there again until i trade my truck in, and put the stock TB and air filter back on.

dont know. no access to a dyno locally.
but dont know if you'd notice ~10hp anyways.

I installed my Moe's TB last week. I agree, 10 hp is hard to notice on these trucks, but throttle response is much better. My diablo arrives tomorrow from hemifever; cant wait to install the tune and take more advantage out of the extra air flow from the TB

Is there a gasket that should be replaced? Or is it like a rubber seal that could be re-used?
