Ha! You guys have it easy! This week we hit a record 1.53 for 87! Average is around 1.50 though, plus 10 cents for 89 plus another 4 if you want 91 plus another 4 if you want 94

Thats why i laugh when people ***** about gas prices, yall aint got **** on how overtaxed we are! Sometimes its almost worth it to go to lancaster to fill up (ontario boys know what im talking about :p )
I only use top tier 91 as well, petro can and shell mainly

Does anyone tune specifically for E0 88 octane? I have a couple stations close that sell it, and the price always splits the difference between E85 mid and supreme.

Depending on how many miles you drive, you might wanna do the math and see what the cost difference is between running 89 and 93 octane.

It might be worth if for the "fun factor" ;)

For where I'm at and what gas costs here, it is not a big difference.

IIRC, I did the math on here for someone and IIRC, the diff tween tank of 87 and 93 was... $10?

I run straight 93 now.
And after runnin the truck with the 93 tune I don't think I could ever go stock again haha.

Damn...87 here in Alberta just jumped to $1.28. $1.38 for 91.

Im about the do the canned 93 tune and see what it does. If I dont like it, its getting a custom tune ASAP

Why Esso? They're the absolute worst! I usually use ultramar or if I'm in the area I'll go to the reserve and fill up cheap! Lol. Just checked my Gas Buddy app and ultramar in the area is 1.30 /liter for regular. The reserve is 1.20/liter for regular and 1.30/liter for premium! I'm in Ontario

Here in Windsor we have no Ultramar. :(

So after a couple days driving i do notice a difference. Its not from a stand still though its when im rolling, like anywhere from 50 km/h up i guess, still seeing. but even though ive been driving hard my fuel mileage is down, now i dont know if thats cause of the tune or cause i switched to 89 octane. either way yeah im happy with what i got.. cant spin the tires but i get its gonna take more

I don't understand how or why you can't spin the tires at least a little bit.

There's no reason why a stocker with 8 miles on the clock can't light em up. Mine did.

I was thinking the same thing. I've done very little, as far as performance mods, even added a couple hundred lbs, between my hitch and bed cover and I have to try NOT to spin the tires with 3.55's. I don't even have my tuner installed, right now.

I dont know what to say, i wish it would but yeah i would have thought a stock 395 rated hp truck would but mine wont. there are others that say the same thing. you guys got the good trucks then.

Different transmissions... The 8speed has a much lower 1st gear than the 545rfe/65rfe transmission, then on top of that he might have 3.21s in the rear and 20s with 33' tires, i.e. a very bad combo if you're looking for off the line performance.

My mileage has dropped a few MPG's.

I disabled MDS, however.

Could this be your problem?

As far as smoking tires, or breaking traction, etc;
I had tried to do that once before the DS/93 tune and was unable to make it break lose. It'd just take right off. Good for time, low on the fun/wow factor.

Install 93 tune and wa-bam. Tires break loose now.
I have only done it once to get a quarter mi. time - which, I flubbed anyways.
So I just punched it to the floor and got about 1.5 secs? of squaling.

*ETA*
I also did not have tow/haul on.
When I done the 0-60 I wanted to see what it would do under "normal" circumstances.
It ran an 8.5 with a bad take off.

I always thought I got more throttle response with the 89 tune over the 91. But since the price difference beteen 89 and 93 here is 10 cents its not even worth going back to 89, plus I get better mileage with 93, and it pulls harder when Chryslers "vtec" kicks in yo lol

i do have the 6 speed and also have 3.55's with the 20" wheels. again i dont want to drive around laying rubber everywhere im not that guy, i just want to know i can or say i can.

I dont know about you guys but there is something immensely satisfying in laying down a nice set of 11s and watching the smoke slowly drift away :)

Last summer when i got my truck i respected my tires because i wasnt sure how long they would last me but this year when i put my summer tires on i made it my goal to finish them by the end of the summer (the sidewalls are getting pretty cracked; age and UV exposure blah blah)
I have a lot of "work" to do haha :)
