This is the drawing for the Dodge Van. Item 5 is the valve.

The 1500 may not have a shutoff valve, if it does it will be where the two lines go into the heater core. It may just have the metal door to direct heat into or not into the heating duct system.

Found the heater layout for the 1500. Does not seem to have a valve, just the door.

I filled with a few things. I tapped on the valve that you showed me. And got a few more degrees off the heater . So I ordered a new one as well as a new radiator cap. Possibly not getting the proper pressure buildup on the system. It's Only 10 bucks and always good to have a spare if I'm wrong

Thanks for all the help and advice. Next project is tracking down a misfire on my other truck. But I'm waiting till it's warmer for that lol

This might help, except I would not mess up the dash behind the glove box to get at it the way he did.

As far as the misfire, throw two cans of Seafoam in the tank and let it run through as you drive. Fixes plugged up fuel systems on dodges, and that causes about 80% of the misfire problems. It is also the easiest thing to try first.
