Hey It only has 21,000 miles on it but I feel like the issues just keep popping up. I have about 9 months left on my warranty. I have about $2500 equity in the truck, so do I cut my losses and sell the truck, and roll into something else? Or do I wait and see what else happens after I get it back

Probably two simple fixes under warranty. Personally I wouldn't sell it. I'm at 170K miles now on my 2018 with same engine (3.6). Been very happy with mine but lemons happen. I know these pentastars often have the plastic oil filter housings crack, but at only 21K miles that would surprise me.

Agreed, and if it's a truck he likes I'd agree with you that he should keep it. The difference I see in your post and the OP's first post is that you mentioned you've been very happy with your truck. The OP never mentions that he even likes his truck. I'm not saying he does or doesn't like the truck, but the fact that he never mentioned anything about that is telling to me. Combine no real perceived connection to the truck with the loss of confidence in it is why I recommended he should move on to something else.

Sister in laws new in December 2025 Ram 1500 has been in the shop twice for repairs under warranty. She has the e torque V6. I don't know about Rams any more.

I remember when brands would have commercials claiming "some of the longest lasting trucks on the road". According to vehicle registrations.

They never say that in commercials any more. Most don't even show the vehicle in motion. They're just sitting there looking pretty. Kind of funny to me.

Actually he does say he loves it in his second post (3rd in the thread) and right now he's weighing his options, which you guys have pretty much covered along the way.
Maybe leasing would be the way to go here, esp if one likes getting a new vehicle every few years like some tend to do.

Indeed he did. I stand corrected.

I took possession of my very early build 2019 in May of 2018. There were a number of assembly issues that caused me to bring it back to the dealer almost immediately, enough that I'm sure it would discourage a lot of people on buying the brand or wanting to trade it off.

Fortunately, I worked with the dealer and things got straightened out, but it took five returns. I'm glad i did not overreact, as I ordered this truck the way I wanted it and for the next 110,000 miles it was trouble free (they've since replaced one exhaust manifold and even that was under warranty).

Judging from family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances it appears nowadays buying anything is like playing roulette.

Dusty

As others have said above reliability these days is a crap shoot, that's just reality but it's also something that's always been around as a possibilty for any vehicle made since the day Henry Ford produced his first vehicle to sell.

In your case, 3 warranty related visits back to the dealer with one that has such low mileage within such a short period of time would raise a yellow (Not red) flag to me, depending on exactly what each visit was for.

This sums up what I could say myself over it.
Even though you may love it, there is no guarantee either way this is or isn't just a run of bad luck or a string of issues to get out of the way.

Sometimes it's like the Kenny Rogers song goes about knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em....

I'm also wondering why the service dept hasn't said anything since you took it in.
Make them tell you something soon even if you have to pop in "In Person" because a warranty is one thing, the service you get is the other part of it and any warranty you could have is useless if the ones honoring it aren't competent.
You've already paid for the warranty when you bought it and frankly, it's a contract between you and the dealer so at least make them honor it. :deal:

No need to worry yourself sick about it:
If things still don't seem right with it once you get it back, trade it/sell it for peace of mind and go with another one.
Easy now...half these youngins here aren't gonna know who Kenny Rodgers is:rolleyes::33:
I agree with alot of folks here about gettin a warranty that would suit his needs to feel better about his ride.
