I figured I'd drop a note about a good experience I had at the dealership.

Called to schedule appointment for the cruise control recall. They told me the appointment was for 2pm and that I could get dropped off at my job which was about two miles away. When I brought it on Monday morning at 9a.m. they said "is that all you need is the recall? We can have it done in 15 minutes."

It was and I left pretty satisfied and surprised. I know that it may NEVER happen again but it was nice of then to do so quickly.

I take mine in tomorrow (St. Helens Mouthful-of-FCA brands Dealership, in St. Helens, OR.) They told me it'd take maybe an hour or two at the most (they're getting the U61-Cruise Control recall done and checking on the U05-Autopark one since mopar.com says mine hadn't been done yet, in spite of Autopark working just fine on mine.)
I'll update when they get done :)

I go in Thursday for the recall and a couple other things. I'm hoping for a speedy service.

I will shout out kudos for the Lithia CJDR dealer here in Wasilla. For the most part they've been pretty solid with me. This latest U61 went exactly as it was supposed to. Brought the truck in, was greeted by a smiling person, was told it would take 45 mins, after wandering about looking at new trucks for 45 minutes went back to the service dept and the truck was done and waiting for me to drive home (fully operational at that).

I usually go to a couple different dealers near me, neither of which i bought the truck at. both have been great to deal with.

i think one of the biggest things now days that make the consumer dis-like dealers is you usually have to bring a vehicle in to "diagnose" the issue, then being it back to fix the issue. is it an inconvenience yes, but if a dealer stocked parts to fix every model of new car they carried they wouldnt be open due to the amount of overhead.

Shout out to Hillsbourgh CDJR in Hillsbourgh, NC. When I checked on getting the recalls done on my ram it wasn't well let's see when we can get you in, it was when would you like to bring it in. I said how bout first thing Saturday morning and they said see ya then. When I arrived service advisor called me by name, knew who I was and what I was there for. He said it's take about 1 hour to complete recalls, they got right on it, and sure enough 1 hour later I was on my way. Some of the big high faluting dealerships should take a lesson from this smaller, friendlier, and efficient dealership.

My wife is bringing mine tomorrow to a dealer in Jennings. Hoping to have good service, the service guy I spoke to on the phone several times while gettin all my ducks in a row was good-natured and patient.
I’ll update tomorrow evening how it went with her, I don’t usually go to a dealer for anything but if the service is good in person then I’ll be giving them my business in the future for sure.

Quick report:

St. Helens Auto Store in St. Helens, OR (FCA dealership) was pretty awesome...

I got there 20 minutes early. They couldn't find me in the system (likely because ODOT just coughed up my plates and updated FCA w/ ownership info yesterday viz. their CVR system, which threw off mopar.com, which in turn threw off...)

BUT! The SA was awesome about it; he said "...oh, you just got new plates? No worries - I'll squeeze you in, shouldn't take but an hour, tops!" So I give him the fob and wander to the waiting area. I ask one of the young ladies working there if they had wifi, she happily gave me the password. I caught up on some work for a bit, then stepped out for a smoke, where I discovered that they literally squeezed me in...

Got the whole thing done in 45 minutes, I had the fob back, and I had to sign a couple sheets of paper before I left. I thanked them for the speed of the update (they explained that since it was a 2017, it updates a whole lot faster than the newer PCMs). After a quick phone call, mopar.com got their **** sorted, and everything (including the recall info) was updated on the site by the time I got home.

I did notice that the truck had a lot more pep on the road on the way home... but that might be just my perception since I had a meeting to catch once I got to the home office. :)

Geez... Glad mine is a little country dealership (their lot was packed full of 2500s and 3500s, a few 1500s (even a 4x2!), a couple of cars, and a Jeep or two.)

Yep the smaller community dealers (even in Ca) have always done a better job with customer satisfaction and service. Would like to see other members post great dealer service stories.
We only hear a lot about those dealers who got their license and education from AH University.

FCA didn't have to do this. Dunno if other brands have similar customer assurance programs. I have never had to rely on a dealer or your service, but on behalf of every Ram owner on this forum and beyond, a heart-felt THANK YOU for watching out for us. @ramcares does care!
