Before I make the purchase I wanted to see if you guys had any input on this unit. I want a quality unit, with rear usb, decent 6 preamp volt outputs.
I'm looking at the pioneer deh-7400hd. I have the infinity setup so I need the $64 adapter from crutchfield which is increasing my total headunit purchase which ultimately I wanted to keep right at $200. Just wanted to get thoughts on if this is the best choice to go with.

I now buy nothing bun pioneer headunits. Dont know much about the one you said but I trust pioneer headunits as a whole. I had a single din flip out in my genII LOVE IT. Then I got a double din kenwood for my genIII and hated it, programming sucked. So I swapped it for the pioneer AVH-8400BH, and its the best ive ever owned. Id say if it meets your specs pioneer is a great head to choose.

Just pulled the trigger. I was able to find a crutchfield discount code through google that worked and saved me $20. so I was able to get the pioneer 7400hd, PAC c2r-chy adapter, antenna adapter, and dash kit for $204 shipped. Not a bad deal.

Yeah, I'll post pics up once its in. Any tips on the installation process when using the the C2R-CHY adapter with factory infinity system and anything special when it comes to installing the dash kit that I should be aware of? Any input is great!

I've got a Pioneer (cant remember what model), and love the thing. Only thing that took some getting used to was it doesnt have bass, mid, and treble adjustments, it goes by frequencies. It's not to hard to figure out, but confused me for about two days lol just gotta play with it. Make sure you get some different speakers; the stock ones sound better with a AM headunit, but it's still night and day from that with AM speakers on top of your HU

Yeah, I actually likes that it has a 5 band EQ instead of the normal 3 band EQ that other units have.
I already have Boston Acoustics SL60's for my front doors but I am waiting until I get my JL XD500/3 amp to install those along with a single JL Audio old school 12w3. So in the end it will sound awesome. Only thing I am keeping stock are the rear door speakers. Still contemplating leaving the dash speakers hooked up or simply disconnecting them. I have heard both sides of the fence from different people on the forum.

Just got the Pioneer from crutchfield last night along with the dash kit and PAC adapter. The install was more than easy with the PAC adapter and I also ran extra wires from the rear outputs of the radio to replace the door speakers with a set of boston components until I can get an amp to them. Ill put a pic later today of the unit.

Im not going to run wires to my rear doors. I'm leaving those running off the factory infinity amp. I'm only changing out the fron 6x9's with a set of components but I havent gotten to running the wires to those doors yet.
but im sure some others will chime in on best route to run wires to the rear doors.
