ABS light/code

The ABS light on the dash came on monday then the traction control light came on now it's saying my 4x4 system is temporarily not in service. Also I noticed yesterday my cruise control isn't working.

Is this a dealership fix or could a local shop handle it? I'm calling them today, it's been a very busy couple days... anyway the closest dealership is 30 miles away and the last time I was there for a recall I had to take the whole day off work.

See if you can pull some codes. Could be a wheel speed sensor.

Taking it to the dealer Thursday. I had my local shop check it out and they said it was throwing codes due to having an open recall. I do have 4 open recalls I've just been putting it off because I have to take time off work to get it to the dealership.

Hopefully the dealership will do the recalls and fix the code problem.

Glad I'm getting my truck into the dealership tomorrow. A couple weird things happened today.
1.) Pulling into my office parking lot when applying light pressure to the brakes the ABS activated like I was sliding on ice.
2.) Then going up a slight hill in a 25mph zone it was like my truck shifted into neutral. The RPM's shot up but there was no power. I let off the gas then applied pressure to the gas and everything was fine.

Yeah and they tried to completely bend me over. They charged me $780 to replace half of the ABS control module, told me it was fixed and ready to be picked up only to get to the dealership within 30 mins and have them say they found other problems. They came back with an additional quote of $2300 saying the $780 job didn't fix it. I declined and left to get a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion said the control module they replaced was working fine and then replaced my rear ABS speed sensors, both sides for $100.00 and fixed the problem.

As I sat waiting for my truck I also over heard a service manager talking on the phone that to fix this woman's car it was going to cost her $3500 but if she signed up for their service contract she would only be responsible for the $1000 deductible but she had to get her transmission flushed and she had a leaky transmission tube that was an additional $675. All they did was scare her into getting into their service contract because it'll be more lucrative for them in the long run. They took that poor woman to the cleaners.
