hello everyone,
while back i was having transmission issues. i ended up changing the computer on the truck.
the change helped but the other issue that came up was that the ABS light kept blinking. i read a lot about it on forums but they had the brake light on also. well after a while and after getting my transmission fixed right i put the original computer back thinking it was going to take that ABS light away. it hasnt, still blinking to this day. is there anything i can do to make that light go away?

I've had several permanent ABS lights on, never blinking though.

I'd inspect the 40a fuse under hood than inspect speed sensors, possibly need sanding.

On my current truck, I just pulled the fuse which beats pulsating brakes.

What fuse in the box are you referring to?

My truck doesnt have abs sensors on the front brakes. I think most likely its going to be the speed sensor on the rear axle.

There’s no wire on the driver side front hub that plugs into a harness on the wheel liner?

Look coming off the back of the hub behind the shield for the rotor....if you have abs you have wheel speed sensors. That's why you need the code read so you know exactly which one it is. Mine was the one on the pumpkin when I had it but it can be any of them.

You can see it in the picScreenshot_20190507-183634.png

Maybe a different set up....coming from gm maybe some dodges still use a reluctor wheel and sensor? What year truck? That pic was for an 06 3500 ram which is the same style gm uses. I do know if you have abs you have a speed sensor somewhere

My 04 2500 has the speed sensors which can be quite finicky with shim configuration and sensitive to rust.

I ended up pulling the 40a ABS pump fuse to eliminate pulsating brakes. 15573192235512622069944828350757.jpg

Haha...looks fixed to me. I've had rust be an issue on a 98 gmc I had. Those had the wheel on the back of the hub and bracket mounted sensor. I prefer the internal reluctor wheels on the hub....generally fewer problems but I've had problems with those too haha

Yeah it's a trade off.....both lights will stay on but in my case I simply got tired of playing/adjusting with the speed sensors.
The ABS would prematurely activate.
I'm old and know how to drive and don't need ABS. Lol

My truck brakes much better now and peice of gorilla tape over lights.....all is good.
