Hello to the forum. I'm posting this for my dad who has a 1999 4X4 Ram with 5.2 engine and 5 speed manual transmission . After working on something else unrelated to the AC system I ran the engine and noticed the AC compressor was on. I checked the AC mode knob and selected "Off". I went back to the engine and noticed the compressor still engaged. It cycles but still engages. I went back to the passenger compartment and noticed interior blower still blowing even though the mode selector is "Off." I then moved mode selector to all modes and AC compressor is engaged in all modes! Even when selector is selected to Off. I checked the AC relay and it is working correctly. I decided the problem might be the selector switch module on the dash so I took a gamble and bought a used one from the salvage yard and tried it....same result...the AC compressor and interior blower motor still stays on. I'm out of ideas and looking to see if anybody has run into this issue. I've googled a solution and some results say it is normal for AC to be on all the time. I can never recall seeing this system activated even during the winter and my dad even said that the AC would never engage and blower motor wouldn't blow air in off position. Your help is appreciated ! Thanks. Herb
