I've been having a nuisance issue with the blower in my '06 Ram 1500.

Occasionally the fan motor will not turn on at all. Later that day or the next day the fan will work again.

I can't find a wiring diagram for my truck and have only been able to gather bits and pieces of information.

I haven't torn it apart yet but I don't think it's the motor or resistor. The motor usually works and when it does, the air comes out with normal velocity and the speed switch works so that should be telling me that both the motor and resistor are good, right?

I've read that power is often fed to the blower through the ignition switch but again I can't find a diagram to verify if the blower gets power through that switch.

Any help / advice is appreciated.

I've had blower motor resistors cause those exact symptoms. They're cheap enough I'd just replace it before you do any other trouble shooting. Plus its going to go bad at some point anyway you'd just be preemptively changing it.

Had the same problem. My blower motor was bad. Took it out and put 12 volts to it. Sometimes it would start right up. Sometimes I would have to help it to start. Replaced it. Took care of the problem.
