So today they called me up replaced grill shutter system and gave me a voucher for tank of fuel yippee

Used shutters years ago on diesel 18-wheelers. They were air actuated, never had much trouble with them but they haven't been used for years now. Temperature control has become more sophisticated via optimized fuel delivery and valve timing that does a good job of controlling heat at the source. I seems to me that to close the airflow vis shutters is dependent on many variables that may or may not yield additional economy. I like the Hemi because it's an honest engine not dependent on turbos, etc. for power and economy.

I would think the shutters are more for faster temperature warm-ups then anything.
You need things hot to beat emissions and to bring the mileage up

Shutters are still in use on big rigs,watch the grill on a new KW on a cold day when it's running down the highway

I work at a body shop as a tech, The past few weeks I have had 2013 fords that have minor bumper damage with busted grille shutters behind the bumper . The system is so fragile! I dislike the idea a lot , if my ram had this I would take it out .Ill get some pics to show you guys...
