My 2019 1500 classic big Horn came without a real locking differential. After a lot or research I chose to install the standard Mopar LSD over the electric version. I ordered a mopar part number 68266878AA LSD carrier complete. $402.00, new carrier bearings $76.00, gasket felpro $7.50, 75-90 gear lube and friction modifier less than $50.00.
I pulled the axles, backed off the adjusters, removed the bearing caps, removed the carrier then removed the ring gear, cleaned all parts and put the ring gear on the new LSD carrier which I put the new bearings on, then installed and set the backlash.

It is to late now but should have gone with aftermarket as the OE unit has no preload
and relies on the traction control or parking brake to load the clutches

Over the years I have had several locking units as well as LSD's. In this app I didn't need a Detroit TrueTrac or an Auburn E-locker. The factory LSD works well. This toy has Auburn LSD/E-lockers.

My 2019 1500 Classic Warlock doesn't list the LSD in the rear but both wheels spin when I'm stuck. I was absolutely going to add the LSD in the rear until I was playing around one evening with a friend and noticed it on a dirt road. Someone mentioned that the tow package with the controller has the LSD as stock in the rear but doesn't mention it on the build sheet.

Would you know if this is true?

Chrysler has a spin control system run by the vehicle computer, it uses the brake system to transfer the power to the non spinning wheel by putting the brake on the spinning wheel. On hard packed dirt mine will leave 2 identical spin marks.
