adding backup camera

Hi a newbe here. My truck has the uconnect 5.0 and Iam wishing I got a back up camera. Can you plug and play a mopar camera using a camera in the tailgate? Or is it better to go aftermarket. Lastly how much of a pain is it to install? Thanks

there is a few ways of going about this.

you can spend a ton of money with a module like posted. or you can use any aftermarket cam and wire that in.

the biggest difference is if you dont use one of the modules you have to have the dealer activate the XAC sales code. most dealers will charge you about an hour of labor to do so.

me personally i have about $65 into my cam and what the dealer charged me to activate it.

search around on the forum and you will see this is talked about all the time and you can see all the different methods
