Adding digital rear view tow camera option

I know the digital rear view camera tow mode has been discussed before. However, my question has not. I have the digital rear view mirror already in my 2021 Laramie. I'd like to add tow mode to the digital rear view camera. My truck does not have the 7 pin connector in the bumper. Does anyone know if I could add the 7 pin connector and if so, what the part number may be? Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the 7 pin connector is what you need for the digital rear view camera. On my 22, there is a separate connector for the digital rear view camera for tow mode. I think that's new for the 22's. I'm not sure how it's done for the 21 or earlier Rams. My suggestion would be to call your local Ram dealer. Give them your VIN and needs and they should be able to tell you the part numbers. Do you already have the camera, or will you be removing the one from the cab stop light?

Good idea, just wasn’t sure how knowledgeable the dealer may be from what I’ve read.

I was going to buy the tow trailer camera from Ram to put on the trailer. And then plug it in and hopefully it’ll show on my digital rear view mirror. Once I get the parts obviously.

If it helps, the part number for the camera should be 68448640AA. I know a guy with a 21 who used that DRV camera...and it's the same one I got for my 22. Note, that's for the camera only - you'd still need the case to put it in. Your local Ram parts department might be able to pair that with the cable/case or kit that you'll need. If that fails, call MoPar parts directly.

Checking on your success with the installation. Did you have to use co-ax cable for a direct connect or can you use the ref signal? If RG signal, do you need some type of receptor for the 7 pin connector? Thanks!!!

This is a 7 pin connector trailer electrical hook up, it is for lights & brakes

I believe on the opposite side
there would be a cable fitting similar to what is on the backside of your tv
