I would love to add side accent lighting but was thinking of just having it go on and off when you enter the truck and leave... where would I splice from???
I guess it could be accent lighting that could stay on with the lights, but again, lets say I tapped into the fog light wiring... fog lights don't go on when unlocking the truck.

any suggestions, any wiring close by instead of coming from the rear?

THNX guys

Hmmm ok, I'll have to check into that one, don't think I even have floorboard lights but I'll see.

I did this with my ICI magnum boards. The floorboard lighting plug was taped up under the dash in a wiring harness. I'll see if I can find a pic but it's the smallest plug I've seen in the truck yet.

I used the cargo light to control a relay. Cargo light turns on when you unlock the truck. Not sure what you’re looking to add for step lights but if you put to much draw on the footwell lights it may shut the circuit off. Not sure what the limit is on that though.

Here is a shot of the driver side. The red wire you see in the pic taped into the oem wiring that leads to the courtesy light in the driver side footwell is where I spliced in. It will be probably the easiest place for you to splice in and will add the lighting in the way you are describing.

So how did you run that wire out to the running board lights?

My first guess would be off the BCM (body control module)

I ran mine thru the little rubber grommet in the firewall where the clutch usually goes. Just poked a small hole in it and into the engine compartment. Then split it to the drivers and passenger side.
