I’m just getting into possibly updating my software on my own. I noticed on my screen that I have:
CANADA-ASO-8.4-JR-30.24.0-20191016-JOHO
Is it safe to update to the newest version linked on page 1 even though mine specifies Canada?
Any additional steps I should follow or be aware of?

And lastly, it it worth updating? Is this strictly the software? I’m assuming this has nothing to do with the maps? (Which mine shows 2019 as well)

Thanks

I can only say if there is no issue you are trying to correct updating is not worth it.
Great advice thanks!

I was just wondering since my map database seems to be from 2019 and the Uconnect site says I have no new updates. I was also curious to know if there’s any new features or capabilities added in newer versions of the software.

Oh and there’s also a new highway that opened in my area and the NAV system thinks I’m still driving through a swamp or something lol

I’m assuming I’ll eventually get some type of notification when there’s an actual update available for my system.

That might be the newest update. They are usually 2-3 years behind. If yours is a 2018+ radio, I would plug your phone in and use the built in Android Auto or Apple Carplay integration for NAV.

That’s what I heard that they are usually 2-3 years behind. I have a 2020 Ram Classic. The build date was September 29, 2020.
I’ve just been using CarPlay for now and it works very well. Like I said, I was just curious and wanted to see if I was running at least the latest versions of everything made available.

Thanks for the reply!

No problem. Your radio is capable of over the air updates too. It's possible you already have the latest firmware.

@Lurker55, huge shout out for helping me with my UAS! I just ran the update to get to v39.6 and it fixed the issue I was hoping it would fix! I added all the settings for heated/vented seats, heated steering wheel, and auto dim rear view mirror but I could never get the ‘controls’ app to appear to turn them on/off. I did find out that I could access them through a round about way through the ‘climate’ app (and I eventually installed the switches for the seats and wheel). All the individual icons for that stuff also showed up which I also didn’t have. Thanks again!

@DoughRat19 could I get that v39.6 UAS file from you ?
