Hi, I have a 2013 Ram 2500 4x4 (gas engine) that makes a significant clunking noise only when in 4x4 and under strain, like when pushing snow, or accelerating quickly from a stop. It is loud. I can hear and feel it, and it seems as though it is happening in the transfer case or front differential. It does not ever occur when in 4x2 mode.
The truck has about 165,000 miles. Boss Snowplow frame is permanently mounted. The noise does not have to occur when carrying the actual plow. Just any load or strain in a forward or reverse direction.
Any ideas? I have not found a way to search this problem on the internet which gives applicable results. Thanks for your help.
