My dad needs a new compressor for the farm. Has been buying small, cheaper, oil-less model brands but is considering options. Looking to get an upright tank; maybe 15-20 gallon with wheels; 125-150 psi. 110 volt. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have had good luck with

Just depends on his usage and air flow needs.

Quiet oilless that also works decently but less air capacity.

Or California air makes quiet oilless - they hold up decently BUT if using it for heavy demand and daily it is hard to beat an oil compressor.
One thing to note though, oil compressors don't work well in cold spaces, it is hard on them starting in freezing temps.

I’ve had it for 12 years +/-
The only thing I’ve done is replaced the switch on it and done a couple of mods. I turned the pressure on it up to 165. I changed some of the fittings to raise the switch and add a few extra air chuck connectors.

I have a 30 gal husky I paid about $350 for it. It is a oiless and its quiet for oiless. I really like the 175 psi capacity that allows for long air use with out pumping up. I dont use mine a ton but impressed with it for a small home compressor. I use air all day long at work and we use to run a large Quincy and now use run a atlas screw compressor. I know air usage. Oilless compressors aren't going to last as long as a oiled one but depending on how often you use it is whether it'll be worth the maintenance.

Then I have a 5 gallon Dayton oil for nailers, & Ridgids 1 gallon cordless

Really it all depends on your usage.

If you're not going to use it much then by all means get an oilless. I've got a small pancake one that is oilless, and I use it for odd jobs around the house where I don't need to drag my heavy air hose around (so like doing trim work, airing up a tire, etc.). I've also taken it camping because you just never know when you might need a compressor.

If you're going to use it a LOT, then an oil compressor is going to hold up much better in the long run. I've got my big CH 80-gallon that I use for working in the garage, and I've used it for roofing my house, redoing siding, building a swing set, etc. etc. It'll power anything I can throw at it, too.
