Air deflector worth it?

Does the air deflector that mounts at the front lip of the hood really keep bugs and whatnot off your truck?

yep. helps it from getting rock chips also.

Mine's chipped all to hell from rocks so it is a good investment in my personal opinion. Nothings worse than hand painting rock chips.

agree with the two posts above me. i ve had them alot of vehicles and they havent let me down. ive seen vehicles where the deflector is shattered but the hood doesnt have a scratch .

They also work really well at deflecting birds that try to fly in front of you.

yeah I had one on my old truck and definitely noticed less bugs and rocks after it was installed

They work well, but I don't like how they look. I'd rather get the clear laminate protective skin on the hood.

i agree with Trup. On the rams they just don't look good. I had them on older vehicles though

That's what I'm looking at, something body colored that blends in nicely. I'll probably get a clear one and have them paint the back side so it doesn't chip.

Had one on my truck... Be careful with them. They will rub the paint off your grille over time.

That was the first one I looked at, but they don't list Flame Red as a color. I guess if I go this route I'll have to have a body shop paint the back of a clear one.

I'm still debating an air deflector vs 3M kit, but I'm having trouble finding a 3M kit for the 2012.

2009-2012 are the same. Just get one for a sport or an express
